If Pacquiao beats Rios easily I agree the hype will be back and rightfully so. Rios is a proven very good fighter and Pacquiao is a proven great fighter. If Bradley wins he would probably give Pacquiao a title shot since Pacquiao would be another big payday for Bradley. Marquez said he would never fight Pacquiao again so maybe he will stick to that.

Why and how? Does Alvarado get holy high praise attention for beating Rios too? Nooo so why should Pacquiao. Plus Rios is coming off a loss to Alvarado a C+ fighter at best that tells allot on the measuring stick where Pac's level is at right now.

Hype is different from actually having it anymore, people still want to see him against Floyd now these aren't the most knowledgeable people and Rios has a fairly glossy record so a win over him will hype those people up more.

Now the real hardcore boxing fans they should know the deal and wouldn't buy that hype but the vast majority of fans aren't in that group so they will buy the hype at least to a degree.

Lol here you go...if Mayweather was fighting Rios, you would be $h!tting all over him. Truth is, Rios is a smaller version of Margarito...nothing about Rios is better than Margarito so if Pac is anywhere close to 85% (don't think he'll ever be 100% again) Rios should get pounded out in about 8rds.

He will win easily, but I disagree about the hype returning. Rios is the kind of guy he has always taken apart. Beating a face first brawler who is coming off a loss to a less than top tier fighter does not equal hype. The only story here is if he struggles to do it.

why will he get hype ????
for getting ktfo by a 135lb fighter (marquez)
fighting rios who has never fought at 147 and got beat in his last outing at 140 , and only ever fought above 135 twice and got beaten in one of them.
                Please.....
set him a task to earn the hype instead of picking smaller opponants coming of a loss and giving him props he DONT deserve.

If he destroys Rios (I think he will easily but I have always been a Rios hater) then I think that sets up a big fight against Bradley (also assuming he beats Marquez).
If he avenges the Bradley loss people will be talking about Pac/Floyd again but it will never be what it could have been in early 2010...
