it figures mayweather fans would try to give mayweather all the credit for this fight doing numbers !!!! dipite all the hardcore evidence pointing to canelo being the bigger draw !!!!!!! last time i checked more fans came out to greet canelo in mayweathers hometown than people who came out to support floyd !!!!!!! but its what ever at this point you can lead a cow to water but you cant make the cow drink !!!! floyd fans will dismiss all evedence showing the truth !!!!! but come next may when mayweather is forced to face someone without the fanbase of canelo the truth will come out and smack floyd and his fans straight across the face !!!! its back too 800 k buys like he had with the ghost and ortiz !!!!!!

Mayweather-Guerrero did low numbers (by Floyd's ridiculously high standards) because Floyd had lil to no interest in promoting the event. It was the first time Floyd's ego bit him in the ass. He's been doing monsterous numbers for so long that he felt that all he had to do was show up and people were gonna come out in mass. I doubt he makes that mistake again. Showtime and GBP aren't gonna fund a 12-city promotional tour or anything. But Floyd's next fight, likely against Garcia, will have a sufficiant build-up that will be entertaining, due to Angel. And I expect that fight to do at least 1.25m ppv buys.

Majority of those PPVs were Canelo fans.. Look at he press tour all Canelo fans.. Look at the weigh in Canelo Fans, and even he arena that nigh Canelo fans

With that said Canelo held most of the weight with the PPV and lets not forget Garcia and Lucas helped out alot.. These numbers wouldnt be possible without Canelo, Garcia, and Lucas on the card..

Now try selling Garcia vs. Mayweather or Mayweather vs. Khan in May. I guarantee it does real low numbers..

nobody is trying to give floyd all the credit it was both fighters it was a perfect storm it happens people need quit trying say it was all mayweather or all canelo. you sound no less ridiculous then the people your criticize

Wow, great numbers don't think it will break the record, but it's gone very high.

On the otherside to reply so someone who said something about a huge fight involving Canelo vs Manny, forget about it. Canelo would KO Pacquiao for sure, you know why? because Canelo is a boxer-counterpuncher, yeah he is, even Floyd said that on an interview after the fight "Canelo is a thinker". those are the dudes who beat Pacquiao, imagine a Marquez with much power and size. and yeah Marquez and Canelo almost looked the same against Mayweather, I wouldn't go crazy to say that even Canelo looked better.

My point with this is that Floyd has become a monster, almost an invincible dog from 140 to 154

Contracts are filed w/ NSAC. Canelo making $5M on fight night, but it's misleading. Guaranteed WAY more from PPV. I'm told $12M. #TheOne

And your point is? Of course Canelo is not goin to get paid what Floyd is. Canelos check is good for being in his first ppv.

I love how on one hand you have a guy who's broken the million buy mark on several occasions then on the other hand you have a guy who's never headlined a pay per view yet he's the one responsible for all the buys. Only on boxingscene

On the right hand you also got a kid who's just 23 and did 2.2 million for his first ppv. Not too bad, people paid to see Canelo win not lose........

It is hilarious that people think this was all due to Floyd!!!! The Majority of the fans tuning in were the huge Mexican population for Canelo. It isn't a coincidence Floyd fights on the two biggest Mexican holidays and always has to have another name on the card with him!!!

You saw what happened when he fought Guererro, the fight didn't even do 1 million buys, and people actually think that number was soley due to Floyd.

It amazes me that people really look past the fact that Canelo was on the card, with Matthyse vs. Garcia as the undercard.

Floyd does not draw on his own unless there are other names on the card, the proof is the Guererro fight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
