This is the type of articles that make me despise the media. He just fought an opponent at Junior Middleweight and asked for a catch weight and yet in the next fight, this writer would like Floyd Mayweather Jr. to have a fight at Middleweight? The same goes for Andre Ward's camp. They campaign for a fight at 168lbs with Chad Dawson, yet afterwards say they want to move up to 175lbs because there is no one else left at 168lbs. The ironic part is that Ward just fought someone that normally fights at 175lbs.

Rather see Mayweather vs B-hop for his final fight instead of Martinez. It'll be a bigger and more marketable event.

If Hopkins was ****** enough to drop to 160 he'd look worse than the guy in your avatar, chap.

There is a slight difference here: I don't know if FMJr even walked 152 in the fight night, but I know as a fact that Ward walks around 185 in the fight night of a super middleweight bout... Hence the proper perspective was to place Ward into the ring with a cruiserweight at a 190 catchweight, for instance...

I suspect that Mayweather is not ready yet for a circus performance.
B-Hop would better fight his protégé Andre Ward -- both of them don't like any of their potential opponents; both of them are flat broke.

Floyd walks into a 152lb catchweight JrMW title fight at 150.5lbs. Now he is expected to fight at middleweight?!

To be honest, Mayweather just edges Martinez at 160lb. The fight would start off compelling but it would quickly turn boring after the 3rd round when it becomes clear that Martinez can't land anything and Mayweather (rightly or wrongly) will get no credit for beating a faded Martinez.

Once Mayweather dispatches Martinez he would be expected to clean up the division. However when he drops back down to 147, people will scream DUCKER! Lets be clear, Mayweather gets knocked clean out by GGG at 160lb.

Moving to middleweight is really a no win situation for Mayweather. I'm happy watching Mayweather clean out the WW division till he retires.

Floyd wouldn't literally have to be 160. A Martinez fight likely would have to be a catch

I am hopeful this fight can get made. I was encouraged when HBO had Lampley throw Sergio under the bus on the last Fight Game. Made me think they thought Martinez would try and fight the winner of the floyd canelo fight. But some reputable posters have informed me that sergio's HBO deal still has 2 fights and no out clause.

Lets hope something good happens and this fight gets made. I don't want to see floyd khan. I think danny needs to fight at 147 first before fighting floyd.

Sergio then Tim if he beats JMMr next would be my preference.

I disagree with Floyd going that high in weight. He couldn't even be at 152 at fight night against Canelo.

Depending how Bradley and Pac look in their upcomming fights there are still contenders out there even with the network/promotional feuds.

Khan is still good business but what hardcore fan wants to see that?
