Not many men could deal with the Duran from Montreal.

        Peak vs Peak, Pea losses.

The way I see it is Durans biggest Weapon was the fear that preceded him and Pernell Whitaker was the most stoic fighter of the era and impossible to shake him you could not make him angry and keep him angry or make him fear you either so Durans biggest weapon is gone
Duran had an excelent and tight defense but Whitaker could stand infront of a fighter and make them miss his footwork was impeccable and he used George Bentons circling defense to perfection always in reach to pop a jab and come inside to the body and stay at a close range and was the equal of any infighter ever by the time he reached 147lbs he also was effective at taking away everyones left hook he ever faced and he faced some good left hooks Buddy Mcgirt Azumah Nelson De la hoya and trinidad even when he lost he took away that punch and it was a Duran staple
Finally at 147lbs Durans power was not near as great and whitaker could take a punch as well as avoid them
Finally Whitaker was to fast with his hands and to good with subtle footwork and would throw about 1000 punches and swamp Duran at 147lbs scoring a very wide UD something along the lines of 117-111

Duran was definitely live in that one until he quit.

Regardless, it's one quit in a career that spanned 119 fights. If you're counting on Duran to quit then you're really risking it all on a pretty slim (0.8403%) possibility.
Duran has confirmed on multiple occasions he quit because he was frustrated.

I'd bet on Duran to stop him...he to strong and powerful...but I'd say it would be late in the fight...

At 147 I got Whitaker. At 135 I'm leaning towards Duran.

Problem at 147 is that we don't know which version of Duran will show up. The fighting machine from the first Leonard fight? Or the lackluster guy from the second Leonard fight?

Whitaker is another favorite of mine all time, though. He unfairly gets a lot of slack from newbie boxing fans for being a "runner" when he routinely fought in the pocket against bigger men just for the lulz.

Plenty of love to sweet pea, but I say Duran breaks him down and decisions him over the course of 12.
I just can't see anyone in the last 30 years beating Sweet Pea except perhaps Mayweather. I would love to have been able to see Sweet Pea versus both Duran and Mayweather!
