What type of fan are you ?

I have a theory about why people like or dislike certain fighters.. Mathysse/pacquiao fans (diehard): we're the type of kids who were quiet in school scared to walk down the hallways with their heads held high... Probably dressed poorly and recieved very little attention from people of the opposite sex. They are drawn to fighters like mathysse and pacquiao because they can relate to them in a sense. Humble, underdog, quiet etc... They really believe life is a Disney movie and the geek will beat the bully.. Rainbows unicorns and all that good stuff...

Garcia/mayweather types were probably popular in school excelled at sports walked down the hallway with their heads held high. Got invited to parties and had no problem with intimacy.. They gravitate towards guys like Garcia and mayweather because they know what it feels like to win.. And realize that in life the squeaky wheel gets the grease the stronger usually win and in the words o Ricky bobby if you're not first you're last ...

Which one are you ? Get in line.

      second type

the vast majority of boxers who lorded over their eras were arrogant and egotistical

I never cared much for that humility crap when it comes to boxing. Garcia's pops said it best his is a dangerous and cruel sport.

Agreed... People spend a lot of time worried about what guys like Garcia and Floyd are wearing or thier business outside of the ring. Seems like its misplaced anger and it comes from them bien on the outside looking in for the majority of their lives... People who are are used to success and are comfortable in their own skin generally have no problem lettin people know where they stand.

I'm speaking more about the guys who obsess over guys like mathysse and pacquiao... Kind of like they want them to handle their business guys like Floyd and Garcia bit angel and Danny represent the guys who shoved them in lockers or paid them no mind.

Perhaps one of the worst generalizations I've ever heard.

Was a die hard Floyd fan until he retired, and Manny came onto the scene looking like a mini Mike Tyson. I don't know how you couldn't have been a fan.

Back to being a Floyd fan out of respect for how he's still putting it down at 36.

Was kind of a Garcia fan, when I watched him fight against Holt, and didn't really think he'd be this damn good. When he KO'd Khan, I instantly fell in love, because he just put that hype job the F down. Again, Lucas came onto the scene, and was looking like Mickey from the movie Snatch. How can you not like that guy?

For me, I didn't even know what Danny or Lucas' personalities were like. I just go by their fighting styles.

Just a theory... I think there's some truth to it. People of certain personalities tend to gravitate towards certain things. Why wouldn't the same be true in boxing.
