Sr came up with a masterful game plan... He told Floyd to walk him down no one expected that after watching guerrero and cotto... Working with his dad has done wonders for him and it was perfect timing.

He walked Canelo down stayed in the pocket but instead of taking punishment like he did in the cotto fight he was elusive slipping punches.... and as to why conelo boxed well its simply the kid is a BOXER that punches hard. He is a thinker just like Floyd except Floyd is a master what you saw out there was OB1 giving a young Jedi his licks.

Canelo will be fine and bounce back....

oh and Marg could beat floyd talk stop it, see guerrero fight it would have been same result... Marg weakness is speed......

He wasn't remotely tired, he knew he had the fight in the bag and had a sore elbow so took less risks. Tired fighters don't exert more energy by moving so much.
When you're tired you don't get on your toes.

He was fresh as a daisy. The guys work ethic is second to none even at 36.

That said, thats not the right way to beat floyd. Canelo could've kept punching and missing. tht would've made his defense even worse and then he likely gets KTFO.

Floyd is just on a completely different level and Canelo got too frustrated and depressed nt being able to hit him.
I've sparred with a guy that I couldn't hit its FRUSTRATING especially when he can hit you at will.....

Because he was trying to break the Mayweather code. If he had bull rushed Mayweather, he would have eaten more right leads and check hooks. To beat a Genius you have to be a Genius or have the capacity to overwhelm them and Canelo had neither.

No, he couldn't have won the fight with a mauling style.

Canelo has never fought this way. It's not in his nature, and he doesn't have the stamina to sustain it. Canelo was tired enough on Saturday; if he had tried to maul Floyd, he would have gassed completely and likely been KO'd.

The truth is that up until the Floyd fight, Canelo had been able to win by coming in larger than the competition, pacing himself and hurting his smaller opponents with a relatively modest volume of body shots.

That approach doesn't work against a fighter with superior movement who is not going to sit there and let you get off clean combinations to the body.

trying to hit someone and keep missing them makes you frustrated, tires your arms, puts you off balance too much and weakens your defense. If you keep doing that, especially in with a guy who is faster and has a longer reach, you will get KTFO, even with a light hitter like floyd.

there was nothing Canelo could do to stop floyd from hitting him even when he covered up. Canelo scored with the jab, but ate so many counter shots that, just like ODH, realized to keep it up reduced his chance to win.

In reality, Damn kid is 23 and won as many rounds v floyd as JMM did. Think about that.

Canelo will be ok going forward.

some on the talk about applying nonstop pressure but they fail to realize that Mayweather takes advantage of that with counters and you can't land all those shots you will get tired and Mayweather will coast...yes Margarito can look good Throwing a lot of punches with the stationary target but against someone who will make him miss he will get tired and frustrated and lose

Two things happen...you try to pressure with a lot of punches and see you miss, get tired and Discouraged to where you just survive or try to box

                  Or

you just keep on pressure While being countered because you can't land anything

Problem with Marg is that his legacy is tainted with the wraps scandal. He might very well have cheated if the fight was made.

Assuming Marg wouldn't have cheated, I'm pretty sure he'd make it look better than Guerrero.

De La Hoya did better than Castillo, Castillo 1 performance was overrated, lost too many early rounds and got hit with the cleaner crisper punches.
