BoxingScene.com caught up with Devon Alexander "The Great" last week in Las Vegas. The IBF welterweight champion appears to be headed towards a December 7th showdown against former junior welterweight champion Amir Khan. However during the Floyd Mayweather versus Canelo Alvarez weigh in, The Brit made it known that he could still go in a different direction.

"I don't know what is going on with Amir Khan. The fans want it. We are close to signing a deal. Hopefully it happens. We'll see," Alexander stated.

Alexander didn't want to fight Khan in Dubai, but now is pressing to make the fight?

I really dont want to see Khan get a shot at Mayweather. I mean his last fight Juan Diaz had him on ***** street, and he never tries to avenge his defeats.

Khan is already overlooking Devon. Wouldn't be surprised if Khan gets knocked out again. But Khan did fair well against SouthPaw Zab Judah bit we'll just have to see

Either Khan just doesn't get it or he is by far a clueless dude. He's already overlooking his next opponent. Devon Alexander for that matter. Khan really thinks he is better than he really is. Alexander might not be an A+ fighter but he is years better and miles ahead of Khan in every department maybe with the exception of speed but we know timing beats speed every time and Alexander seem to have a pretty decent timing. I honestly see Alexander knocking Khan the **** out

Khan shouldn't be in any talks to face Mayweather, I mean the kid struggled with Diaz for crying out loud. I also thing Alexander will beat him, but nobody wants to see Devon fight Mayweather.

When Khan has an opponent in front of him that he respects, he fights a good smart fight. It's only when he's the overwhelming favourite where he gets reckless.

I'd expect him to respect Alexander and therefore outbox him 9-3, 8-4, something like that. I mean Alexander has been out boxed 3 times if you really think about with guys that have less boxing ability than Khan with the exception of Bradley where it's probably even.
