AMIR KHAN says he can become the best fighter on the planet by beating pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather. Khan was at ringside as Mayweather extended his unbeaten run to 45 with a majority points win over Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez.

And, within minutes of the final bell sounding, Khan signalled his intention to pull out all the stops to meet 36-year-old Mayweather next year.

Khan is due to meet former WBC and IBF light-welterweight Devon Alexander in New York this December with a money-spinner against Mayweather likely in the spring.

I can't count how many times I've read the same thing again. Khan is a broken record. Unless he starts taking his training with Hunter seriously, he will be humiliated by Alexander.

No way does Mayweather fight Khan before fighting Danny Garcia.

How would it look if Floyd fought Khan in May, if he beat Devon, but didn't fight the guy who just stopped Khan in 2012 and is unbeaten/Top 10 P4P now probably???

The problem with Danny Garcia is that he has to build up a big enough fanbase among casual fans before challenging Floyd Mayweather to a bout in order for it to sell. He is nowhere near the box office draw or international figure that Amir Khan is. Garcia is only known for the most part within the boxing circles. Amir Khan on the other hand is far more popular and has a much broader audience not only in the U.S. but also in the U.K. especially.
