Indeed they do. So are you ready to admit that it would be healthiest for Canelo, who came into the ring as a super middleweight last night and as a light heavyweight in the Trout fight, to stop fighting at 154 and finally move up to 160?

This isn't about 1-2 pounds here. Guys are walking around two and three weight classes above where they fight and they can't have it both ways. If you want to cut 20+ pounds to come in bigger than your opponents, you have no right to complain about the effects of rapid weight loss and dehydration.

It's clear that 160 would be a much more comfortable and appropriate weight for Canelo. Let's see him challenge there.

Give the guy a break the fight wasn't that good. How about in the future Showtime stop giving Mayweather a guaranteed 42 million instead pay him 30 million and if wants the extra millions he needs to get a KO. This PPV was crap luckily Garcia/Matthyse lived up to the hype while Mayweather/Canelo did a 50 city promo tour, 4 all access shows, coverage from all the sports media, overpriced tickets and PPV for a 12 round irrevalent fight that nobody is going to remember in a month.

I love Boxing but the truth sometimes hurts and the thread starter has a point. $80 for that mierda haha

No, I'm not a butt hurt Mexican who thinks Mayweather didn't demonstrate domination, on the contrary. But I'm simply left with an empty stomach for more action. I refuse to call what Mayweather seems to always do a, "masterpiece", which imo he's far from. Accurate? Yes. Quick? Yes. But why do true boxing fans pay $80 to see someone jab & run all night? It's absurd. I refuse to respect a boxer who uses his feet more than his hands & calls himself the best ever. They sold us short, we deserve more.

I guess I'm a fan who loves to watch a fight at its best from both corners. But admittingly, all the trash talking, all the media, all the promo they do doesn't reflect how fight night goes, most of the time. The more expensive fight, the less they actually fight. Often times, I think to myself 'boxing has to be nothing but a long never ending soap opera controlled by Vegas. Will Mayweather ever lose? Who knows. But what I do know is that after generating this amount off fighting Canelo, they will fight again. After all Money May loves money & fighting any other boxer but the biggest rising star (even after his loss) won't satisfy his ambition. But this time around, they sold us short, we deserve more.

Just food for thought, I guess.
I felt the same after watching the fight live. I thought mayweather should use his superior skills to knockout an elite fighter who outweighed him by fifteen pounds. He didn't, he didn't even try to. He couldn't replicate david and Goliath, which is an allegory from the bible. So maybe my expectations were too high. But on second viewing, I saw him dominate a world class fighter for twelve rounds, staying in the pocket for most of it, avoiding any significant shots while landing at least 8 or so flush power shots. It was a defensive masterpiece, and the Garcia fight was tremendous so I feel it was worth the money.

I was so bored with the Mayweather fight i turned the channel over it was the same EVERY round with Canelo struggling to get anywhere near Floyd.

Mayweather senior said it would be like a sparring match and HE WAS RIGHT IT WAS LIKE THAT !!!! IT WAS CRAP TO WATCH

it wasnt competitive ! i wasnt on the edge of my seat !

Defensive Master you say - not what i like to watch

I can understand that casuals who wanted to see a Rocky style brawl wouldn't be too happy, however if you actually expected that you're pretty ******. Personally I enjoyed it, it was like watching Picaso paint. It was a masterpiece.

Agreed, if people are bored watching the greatest defensive fighter of all time they are probably better suited for mma.

If your fighter(s) won last night then you may have been content with what you saw but the level of hype was much bigger than what you saw. This was the case for not just the Floyd vs Canelo fight but actually the whole card.

Yup, Molina and Smith was a terrible style match up

Garcia and Lucas was a good style match up and was decent but it missed the mark as far as expectations. Started off good (intense anticipation) and you felt that something big was going to happen any minute. While it had it's moments, for sure, I feel that the eye injury to Lucas kinda dampened it. Not blaming anyone but after that, it was not the same.

Floyd vs Canelo: I pretty much expected the fight to be what it was. Canelo trying to counter a counter puncher and not being too successful since he fights flat-footed and has a low work rate and has stamina issues plus lacks the experience to know what to do when the going gets tough. Canelo tried to pace himself but he still ended up getting tired. Maybe the CW affected him.

None of the fights ever crossed my mind as being a top 10 FOTY type fight nor 20. I usually re-watch fights but I don't expect to re-watch these fights that many times again.

BUT I wouldn't mind seeing a Garcia and Lucas rematch. I'm hoping that the 2nd time around it would be better.

Go out and ask people if they liked the fight? Just do it see how many say they felt great forking over 75 bucks for that crap.
