Victor Ortiz showed more in four rounds than Canelo & Guererro

I agree...I'm still dissapointed in Victor. I think he had the best shot out of all of Floyd's opponents in the past 7 years with the exception of Oscar. Ortiz can find holes with his offense and deliver with power once he gets there. His style was presenting Floyd some issues.
As far as rematch goes I'm not interested. He blew his chance.Comment

Ortiz did do ok.
He landed a pretty good right hook which Mayweather leaned right into before the headbutt.
That just sums Ortiz up though. He'll do something good and then have a complete and utter brain fart. He'd always find a way to lose.Comment

he came with dirty tactics
go watch the fight, it was shamefulComment

Ortiz was not incredibly effective against Floyd and in the end, he paid dearly for his lack of focus, but he was able to sustain some semblance of an attack because he had stamina.
Unlike Canelo, Ortiz is well-conditioned. He's actually completed triathlons, so he not only had a size advantage, he had the cardiovascular base to actually try to apply it. Additionally, you can't undervalue the fact that when Ortiz entered the ring against Floyd, he didn't have the mental burden of knowing that he'd tire mid-fight.
As I pointed out repeatedly before September 14, Canelo has been plagued by poor stamina (this wasn't something that just emerged in the Trout fight) and if you watch Mayweather-Canelo again, you'll see the usual signs of Canelo's poor conditioning. So it's no surprise that he was unable to sustain any meaningful effort.Comment
