Talk about going to school! For those who don't believe Floyd there you go. Cotto is just better than Canelo and Canelo is lucky Cotto got an off night against Trout because if Cotto fought Canelo he would bust him up.

Canelo would beat cotto if they ever fought especially now cause cottos been ****** up, cotto might of touched Floyd more cause of his sweet jab but look at his and canelos face after the fight aswell

Canelo might wind up better than Cotto....Just like there was a time when "Nando" was thought to be the next superstar until he ran into Trinidad and later DeLaHoya. But as of right now? Cotto is a lot better than Canelo! And Cotto was a competitive fight for Floyd. Cotto hit Floyd enough to make Floyd uncomfortable.

I don't understand the hate for Cotto, the guy is a great fighter and has always shown a wllingness to adapt. YES as one poster put it Cotto was not silly enough to box Floyd, he went at him with a strategy that guaranteed more success. While the Cotto Mayweather fight was not close, it was hardly a mismatch and Floyd won but did not outclass Cotto.

I feel like if Cotto had not had his "Blue period" he would have done a better job against Manny. He actually was doing well and then seemed to cave in and Manny really did a number on him. This fight was seminal and has given the naysayers a lot of ammo they would never have.

Here is the thing about Cotto: even in the first chetarigo fight he was winning until he decided not to clinch and inexplicably let Margo walk him down. Cotto beat a still decent Shane Mosley, etc.

How does one compare a possible ATG to a young fighter with many years left to perfect the craft? AS of right now? Cotto takes Canelo to school, WATCH the Mayweather fight versus Cotto! Cotto is more technically sound than the haters think

Mayweather-Cotto wasn't any less of a schooling, breth. If Alvarez was as big of an underdog as Cotto was, I'm sure we'd have had a fair few people claiming that CJ Ross's scorecard was the only legitimate one of the three.

Cotto-Mayweather was WAY more competitive and Cotto legitimately won at least 4 rounds in that fight. He did what Canelo was supposed to do and used his jab, pressured floyd and fought his heart out. i don't know how you can say it was any less of a schooling when Cotto performed INFINITELY better than Canelo and actually bloodied Floyd.

Yes, but that's like saying Mosely is better than Canelo. Although it's true, at this stage of his career Canelo is a much better fighter. Mayweather was just much sharper last night. I didn't think Mayweather could impress me any more but he did last night.
