Because of a thumb, most likely. Not a purposeful one, though. I'm not saying Garcia is a cheat. But an eye doesn't swell shut as fast as Matthysse's did unless it was gouged.

Gotta give Garcia Credit. I didn't see that coming at all. Really good fight but all the credit to Danny. Matthysse wasn't getting lit up with those combos. That eye looked terrible and at a certain point Lucas couldn't see that left coming. I wouldn't mind seeing a rematch.

I'll concede Danny's the favorite in a rematch, but not convinced he's a much better fighter... And still don't think he lasts long above 140 (though I said the same thing about Matthysse)

I honestly would still favour Matthyse to win.

Danny basically won a decision based on a dubious KD against a guy who fought with one eye for half the fight.

Garcia fought extremely well though, he really is a very good fighter.

Lucas is a machine but he can’t fight with a close eye. The dude was hype up by the same people hyping GGG. Just admit fanboys. There were like a handful of us that actually knew this was a legit fight.

Danny proved me wrong tonight. Dude has a chin of titanium and he beat Matthysse decisively. That replay of Matthysse knocking out Garcia's mouthpiece looked like a video game.

i don't care who wins fights. at least the best at 140 fought each other. the fight was a sham though, because tony weeks was in the tank for garcia. garcia didn't prove he was better at all since matthysse would have won on the cards if it wasn't for the fake knockdown.
