Could quite easily have gone the other way if the KD was ruled a slip.. i think it was very debatable.. AND Lucas was winning that round.. so instead of winning it 10-9 he lost it 10-8..

Garcia won by a more IMO.. pretty much outclassed Lucas.. with the eye could have been differnt

I just hope people don't use Matthyse's eye as an excuse, there are ZERO lucky punches in boxing and that swelling was caused by repeated left hooks. It greatly affected Matthyse, however it wasn't luck that caused the swelling.


Props to both fighters for putting on a great performance.

i saw a lot of his left hooks being blocked or partially. matthysse's eye swelled up in a span of about a minute, it was perfectly fine up until that point. garcia was fortunate that it swung in his favor so quickly because lucas was starting to put leather on him. it is what it is.

The eye did seem to swell very quickly. Very unfortunate for his chances into the second half of the fight.
