No. Not even close in my opinion. No one really gave Douglas a chance in hell. At the very least, people are giving Alvarez a punchers chance.

No, not even close. Canelo has a chance here. buster was given no chance. Many people expected an Early Tyson KO.

Ha guy above posted almost exactly the same as i did at the same time. Spooky.

I don't think so. Of course we can all compare the odds now, than of course it would mean tyson/buster was a bigger upset. but the people that actually watched the fight live and followed the fight when it happened will be able to tell you. it's not the same for someone to look back on a fight and say it was a huge upset when they already know the outcome.

canelo isn't much of a dog. i am at MGM, and they have alvarez at +200.

douglas was a 42/1 dog in vegas, if the reports were correct. i was very young when tyson was at his peak, so i can't say for sure other than that.

Is Canelo a 42-1 unknown underdog?

            No.

It would be similar as losing to a guy like Corley at this point

No, Tyson was at his peak when he lost, Mayweather is aging.

Buster was a nobody among HW, Canelo is considered(or has been hyped) as boxing's next superstar.

                Not even comparable situations.

Provodnikov beating Floyd would be comparable to Douglas Tyson.
