i can't imagine this place getting any more excited for a fight, but if manny fought floyd pre marquez 3 then the fight would have been much bigger.

i mean much bigger, too. manny was a huge star. alvarez is still a new guy on the scene, and just now getting real star status. that fight would have sold 2.5-3million ppv without even trying.

I think boxing could have been pumped up to be a major major sport again with this fight, in the publics eyes. Now that it didn't happen, it just points out the protection and politics that noone really cares for in a sport.

As for whos to blame, both sides had their fair share. I just cannot see how anyone can legitimately argue only one side is to blame, and try act credible. Beyond belief.... then again, i'm not a fanboy of either so

I highly doubt it will ever be as big as it would have been in 2010. Neither guy is the same as they were then.

The hype will be back. It won't be as big as 2010 but still huge. Remember Tyson vs. Lewis was past its expiration date and still crushed records.

Between 2008-10 Manny/Floyd would have been ultra mega fight. Galactic (if you will). Right now, both fighters in mid to late thirties and Manny on a losing run the fight has over marinated.

Sorry, but the December 2009 negotiations were the only real and serious ones and those were the negotiations where Manny's side asked for a 5 million dollar per lb penalty if Floyd came in over 147 (like that was going to happen) and then refused the OSDT; or at least didn't want the testing in close to the fight. Top Rank and Manny obviously did not want the fight at the time. Anyone who can't see this is a blind fool. After all of that, Floyd didn't trust them and showed little interest in dealing with them until last year when he offered Manny 40 million dollars cash - and Manny said no to that also. Canelo is only going to make 12 million or so and he's just as important to this fight's sales that is probably going to break the all time PPV and Gate revenue records.

Floyd is part to blame I suppose, but someone on Manny's side did not want this fight to happen back in 2009 for some reason. Either because Manny was doping or because Arum didn't want his Cash Cow to get exposed and so a bunch of bullshidt was thrown out to kill the negotiations.

This is the truth and I agree that it's the greatest disservice to Boxing fans in the history of the sport.

Floyd - "Pacquiao all needs to do is to accept the test and we have a fight."

Pacquaio agreed to his full test and Floyd chickened out. Then the floydiots still using the same excuses why the fight didn't happen. These idiots are so dumb ******!
