Floyd will counter the jab n right uppercut the body shots, canelo needs to throw combinations

Nobody ever mention how Oscar HEIGHT AND REACH ADVANTAGE played a major role in his Jab being effect against Mayweather...IT WAS THE LAST FIGHT IN WHICH MAYWEATHER DID NOT HAVE THE REACH ADVANTAGE FOR THAT FIGHT!

Against Canelo he is working with about a 2 inch reach advantage, this will be a big advantage if Mayweather chooses to work from the outside and stick and move.

So yes the Jab can be effective against Mayweather if LIKE OSCAR you already have a good jab and you have the height and reach advantage and can use that to your advantage like Oscar was able to do earlier in that fight

I always thought a LONG WIRY SKILLED Fighter would give Mayweather the most problems
        Very good post.

I think Mayweather could suffer from a reach disadvantage now that he is 37 much more than he would a few yeas ago. When younger Floyd leant in under a jab or right hand to deliver body shots much more often than now.

In general though a jab can be used to force May to lead, taking away his counter puncher asset. Problem with that is that reach alone is not enough, you need a piston jab (like Oscar), enough stamina to keep on pumping it, enough variety in it to prevent Floyd to figure it out and counter it.

As for Canelo, I don't think he has the boxing skills to even try to outbox Mayweather. I believe he plans to use his jab to "open and close the door" . I believe he plans to follow the jab with hooks (mostly to the body), then jab again to control distance.

When the crowd grows quiet and starts heading for the exit before its over, that'll be your answer.

i agree but i cant see floyd staying on the ropes,
i think hes going to be fast on his feet,
but IMO canelo needs to keep a high work rate up with consistent pressure and power,
combinations, especially body shots could be the key...
