Is it possible for canelo to win using the jab?

I have no doubt Floyd will expect canelo to come at him like Hatton or Castillo did but what if canelo uses his natural size advantage and sticks Floyd with the jab and finds openings. I don't think anyone would expect it and it will likely buy Alvarez a few rounds until Floyd figures out the timing then canelo goes back to pressure until Floyd adapts then canelo switches back to boxing. It'll be like Leonard-Hearns but without Floyd having the skill or power of ray and canelo not having the weak chin of tommy. Risky strategy but in the biggest fight of your life you either take a risk to win or do nothing and become a footnote in history.

I think he will have to throw some right hands , rips ,hooks and uppercuts ,,,,the jab alone wont do it

To me the jab is just a small piece of the puzzle. The most important thing for Canelo to do is keep jabbing, and keep punching. Floyd makes every opponent hesitant to throw. Canelo will have to let his hands go every time he's in punching range. Or sit there like a deer stuck in headlights like everyone else.

His sparring partners constantly counter his jab with rights

          He returns it low

It gets very lazy once he's tired

Canelo's jab isn't as good as say, Cotto's or De La Hoya's. It's a good jab when he commits, but it's not a consistent weapon in his arsenal in my opinion. His sneaky right hand counter is the punch to look out for, I'm curious to see how Floyd goes about neutralizing it.

This MYTH about how you beat Mayweather with a "JAB" I find it to be kinda funny actually.

What is always left out as to why Oscar Jab was effect early is that Oscar always had a good jab, it wasn't something he just learned for the Mayweather fight. Nobody ever mention how Oscar HEIGHT AND REACH ADVANTAGE played a major role in his Jab being effect against Mayweather...IT WAS THE LAST FIGHT IN WHICH MAYWEATHER DID NOT HAVE THE REACH ADVANTAGE FOR THAT FIGHT!

Against Canelo he is working with about a 2 inch reach advantage, this will be a big advantage if Mayweather chooses to work from the outside and stick and move.

So yes the Jab can be effective against Mayweather if LIKE OSCAR you already have a good jab and you have the height and reach advantage and can use that to your advantage like Oscar was able to do earlier in that fight

I always thought a LONG WIRY SKILLED Fighter would give Mayweather the most problems

Doesn't Mayweather have the reach advantage? He's a bit taller too.

He better the throw the stool and scissors at him too! He has no size advantage, he will be heavier but their basicly the same height and reach!!!
This kid has to out work Mayweather, any way he can! If not he'll fight the fight that all the others did! An opponent! He says he's coming to win so I'll see, he'll either win or get stopped trying! Ray
