Billy Graham hit the nail on the head- all these CW problems and rehydration clauses, etc, are because of the day-before weigh in.

The Mayweather camp aren't worried about Canelo weighing 154- they are worried about him coming in more like 174.

He will outweigh Floyd by 20lbs on fight night and the mayweather camp are trying to reduce this natural advantage that Canelo holds.

If they just went back to same day weigh-ins, we wouldn't need to worry about this ****. Light middleweights would be light middleweights not almost cruiserweights.

That comment sounds like your referring to Canelo. Who is being gifted a money fight with Floyd just because he's famous. Ortiz fought the best and had some wins and some losses. He went to ww, and was the first to beat Berto who was #2 behind Pac, since Floyd retired, and Ortiz was just in the right place at the right time. He earned the chance to get a fight with Floyd. Canelo doesnt really deserve this fight to me. Its bad for his ego, since he goes around mexico starting fights with little guys.

What I don't understand is why is everyone allowing Canelo to duck guys his own size?

Guys like Manny, Floyd, Jmm and etc, are true 140-147 fighters, Canelo walks around as a LHW, my thing is, the dude clearly wants no part of Martinez, Glovokin, Ward and those bigger guys.

How is he going to fight those guys when they are on different networks?

Take your pick, catchweight or rehydration. Don't try for both and then lie and say Alvarez wanted the catchweight, not you.
so out of oscar, ortiz baldomir and canelo do you believe all of them can fight at the middleweight division because i honestly don't
out of the 3 canelo to me is the only middleweight

And Floyd's fans didn't care about what a guy weighs on fight night until he signed to fight Alvarez, because "skills pay bills." They hated catchweights until now as well.

Yeah, people are hypocrites. Floyd included.

Because I think it's the first time Floyd actually cared about the weight, obviously he feels that Canelo is too skilled to outweigh him that much. It's actually a compliment to Canelo.

If I was Floyd I would have just let Canelo come in at 154, he wasn't gonna get credit for the fight either way as you said, even if there was no CW.

Floyd can't complain though, he did it to himself, people love to see the ****y guy lose.

Canelo is telling the truth and Ellerbe is lying. Canelo did offer to fight Mayweather at 152 pounds in 2011. Nobody but an idiot would assume that that had anything to do with negotiations for a 2013 fight. Canelo could make a lower weight in 2011. Team Mayweather has a proven record of lying and Canelo has never been shown to lie or contradict himself as Floyd so often does. Team Mayweather started off wanting this fight at 147 pounds as reported in boxing scene top headlines. Canelo had to bargain him up to 152. Floyd was never going to fight him at 154 so it was 152 or no fight. Of course Canelo wanted to fight at 154. The 152 catchweight is 100% team Mayweather's doing and if they had their way the weight would be 147 or 150.
