So if James Toney lost weight, it would be bad right?

It really depends on the fighter.. not just their actual frame.. but their will to even work to lose/gain weight while still being in great fighting shape.

IMO blowing up floyd to 54 to oscars territory is a huge advantage for oscar.
But they're both champs at 154 to begin with. Mayweather showed he can fight at his best at 154, being champ there tells us that. If he thinks fighters are too big, well leave the division alone.

Mayweather is going to hold the belt hostage by only fighting catchweights at 154lbs? thats not right, needs to fight at 154 or leave it for the other guys.

I'd say in this case moving up from 147, but then again Floyd wanted the fight and a title at that weight.

I'm no fan of a championship fight being fought at a catchweight. Whether it's Saturday's main event or dlh-hopkins etc etc. However I think moving down(losing) in weight would usually be worse, but it all depends on the circumstances

Not making the weight you stipulated

I.e what Canelo did, make Hatton jump up a weight class and on top Canelo came over the agreed limit
