Basically, Showtime and Golden Boy are hoping that Broner-Maidana is this decade's version of Floyd-Gatti, a star-making performance/PPV debut that launches a new star.

Maidana is a tough, brawler with a good chin. Now, I do think that his style is made for Broner, and I would lean towards a Broner win.

Saying that, I think Maidana isn't going to be some undersized fighter who Broner can stand right in front of and just trade shots with.

he sets his shots up a lot better lately, and broner is not a fighter who can go 12 rounds without taking a few clean ones.

Broner always stands and trades with people, he isn't a boxer mover like Devon or Khan and he won't hold and clinch over 100 times either.. the people who are not giving Maidana a shot at winning are being silly and overrating broner big time.

The biggest problem here is that broner's defense is being overrated by his fans, he gets Lazy at times and literally just stands there and covers up without throwing anything back sometimes for 10-15 seconds. He does that vs Maidana and he could very well get F ucked up.

If Broner can't put a dent in him, then i feel Maidana stops Broner because of Broners lack of running and clinching (this is because i don't expect him to fight like Devon did vs Maidana but you never know i suppose)

Based on styles, Broner takes it, but his power didn't translate to 147 very well. If Broner's body grows into that WW frame and has the pop he did at 135, I'd favor Broner easily, but that has yet to be seen.
Broner doesn't have that great power. He has faced guys who are B calibre at best, and that includes Paulie. Demarco is a C level fighter to me.

Broner has speed and strength, but IMO his power is overrated. He always had huge size advantage (Build) over the guys he has faced. He has got a great body for making weight though, his frame is huge. Perhaps he has non dense bones or something.

Maidana is a very good fighter.

Better than most guys at 147

              Struggles with boxers though

Robert Garcia has got him in shape and boxing nicely at 147 using his jab

Watch this mofo before he retires.. he is going to take no mercy on any of his next opponents. He has no hype and has proven his worth.

Don't go underating him. He'd knock Khan out in a rematch and Alexander had to hold a fat version him 100+ times to feel safe.

Maidana > Lopez, Ortiz, Karass, Berto, Brook, Rios [Guerrero? - also soon to be expose Broner

For a guy who slowly became very basic and crude while at 140 he is doing pretty well....

Broner struggled and lost against a smaller ponce de leon.

Broner also lost against espn FNF fighter quintero

Broner struggled with a past prime aging malignaggi

Broner is berto 2.0, just pure marketing hype no substance.

                Easy work for maidana...KO 6-7

That's very true, he was much bigger than his opponents. That's probably why people (such as myself lol) were led on to believe that he was a much heavier puncher than he is. Either way, I'm looking forward to Maidana vs Broner, hbu?

Maidana isn't any thing special from a talent standpoint. But he will give any fighter a difficult fight if he's in shape.

Broner is gonna beat Maidana up really bad. Worse than Alexander.
