He's special enough to keep winning. Good wins too. Lopez is damaged goods but he's always given a good showing. Hell, I think he should've taken Jesse Vargas' 0 a few years back. Karass just whooped Berto.

I think him struggling and digging down is what makes him special. He hasn't had it easy that's for sure.

Has Maidana ever been KO'ed? If broner could not hurt an old malinagi know way he hurts maidana. He is a good not great fighter. To say that SK should not have been stopped is just not even worth talking about LOL.

Maidana's improved a lot since he's partnered up with Robert Garcia, but yeah, anyone with a pair of working eyes could tell you he's nothing really special.

He's got heart, titanium chin, and can crack, but honestly, no one really wanted to see Maidana vs Broner.

Thurman vs Broner would've been a guaranteed loss on Broner's record.

Only the Broner and Maidana fans wanted to see this fight. Broner fans know that he'll most likely out box Maidana and then say, "See! He's the real deal, now stop calling him a cherry picker!"

Maidana fans just want Maidana to get the chance to be the first guy to beat Broner.

I also like Maidana's style. Very fan friendly, but I agree that he's not elite (or something special as you put it). I still think he has a good chance of beating Broner, however.

Based on styles, Broner takes it, but his power didn't translate to 147 very well. If Broner's body grows into that WW frame and has the pop he did at 135, I'd favor Broner easily, but that has yet to be seen.

Maidana's heart and power are special. If he leverages a shot optimally (there are some fights where he smothered himself), then very few, if any, can withstand the punishment. Robert Garcia also says he is a true student, which is also special. His emphasis on the jab of late helps him to really set up and leverage his shots. Broner wouldn't have a prayer, that's why he's dragging his feet! He'd rather get fat on some rap tour than defend his weak ass belt

I agree with most of this. The fight vs. Alexander and the shots he was taking against Lopez lead me to believe that Broner will stop him and look pretty good doing it, which I'm not looking forward to seeing. Broner-Matthysee is the real fight we need; if Mayweather doesn't fight Matthysee in May 2014 first.
