The man simply fought EVERYONE in his era except Forrest and Wright and both of those fights almost happened. Oscar layed the blueprint for fighters to start their own promotional companies and triple their bank accounts. It's because of Oscar that Floyd has his own company, Manny has his own company, Cotto has his own company, Mosley has his own company, etc. He is the reason why Floyd chooses the size of the ring, what ounce gloves, and who walks to the ring last. Smh. People REALLY believe the hype that this man puts out. The 154lb version of Oscar that Floyd Sr. trained, would outpoint Floyd any day of the week. As a matter of fact, Floyd wouldn't have fought that Oscar like he wouldn't fight Manny. I hope Canelo isn't drained, which I think he will be based on his 7 day weight, so he can give Jr. a beating!

This has to be a joke right?

          Pointless.

What you just said is pointless and moot. Oscar was too busy fighting the best at that time and Floyd just wanted a payday. What you really should be talking about is WHY he wanted this fight against Canelo at 152lbs? Or WHY he ducked Manny but fought the likes of The Ghost, Ortiz, old Mosley, Under-sized Marquez. I could keep going but I'll stop there. He's an insecure bully who only takes fights he knows he can win. The only reason he fought Cotto is because Cotto is the 3rd biggest draw in the sport and he thought he was going to beat the hell out of him. Boy was he surprised! He thought Cotto was washed up man. He thinks Canelo is nothing more than a flat-footed brute who can't think with him in the ring. He's wrong again. He's a great fighter and I give him credit for just that, BUT he doesn't challenge himself to match his in ring abilities. He's the REAL conman in boxing while he's always trying to point out other fighter's flaws.

            What you think?

Of course it isn't a joke. We'll see when Floyd's career is over. I'll bet all of my points that Oscar's place in history will be higher. Legacy is based on who you fought and when you fought them. How often were you challenged in the ring and over-came those challenges. A fighters place in history is determined by level of opposition faced, not accusations and ego. I speak with my head, not my heart and always give an honest point of view not a bogus one. You may not ever agree with me, but you will respect my boxing knowledge.

ODH arguably lost to Sweet Pea, thats more likely the reason he wouldn't fight floyd.

Uhh he wanted it for advantage, same resason every top earner has a CW.

Manny turned fight down in 09. Hate floyd all you ant, just be honest.

So he beat a tough version of Cotto. ok.

Don't be a revisionist. Every fiht where he was supposed to be challenged tough he stepped up and won. Yet you are not adult enough to give him credit for it. Sad.

Floyd always has been and always will be! Oscar is better looking more loved, most of the ladies still want him! Plus the cherry on top is oscars net worth is $175 mil and Floyd's is at $170! Oscar is not fighting anymore and is still worth more. In 5 years Oscar will have doubled his net worth while poor Floyd will be worth a lot less. That being said Floyd had done great just not as good as Oscar.

Why did Canelo want to fight Hatton at a catchweight for a 154lb title?

Pac didn't Duck Mayweather and Mayweather didn't duck Pac. Since Mayweather left Arum in 2006, he has not fought any Top Rank fighters. If there was no Manny Pacquiao on Top Rank, Floyd still wouldn't have worked with Bob Arum. You sound very upset with Floyd.

floyd beat ODH, has won 4 lineal titles, and beaten plenty of world champs. odh arguably lost to felix sturm.ODH fought a lot of tough fights, including Tito where he ran away from a sure win. Or did you forget that?

I may not like ODH but he is a 1st ballot hof'er for sure. bu lets not put him up there with floyd.
