You're talking about numbers, Im talking about whether the fight was top of the agenda for fans before it was made. Who was talking about Mayweather-Marquez? Yeah they can do a great job with promotion, 24/7 etc to generate a good number. Doesn't justify the matchup. Stop playing dumbComment

That fight was made for 2 reason:
1.To see how Floyd would look by not having fought in almost 2 years & also to see if he could look better vs Marquez than Manny did and set-up a eventual fight with Manny it was basically a showcase fight.
2.If Marquez beat Floyd there wouldn't be a excuse for him not to get a rematch vs Manny
was this the #1 fight the world wanted no don't act like there wasn't reason it was made.Comment

Floyd Is Right ABout One THing; It IS About Timing; Don't Fight Guys In Their Prime
Floyd loves to spin his words and blame fans, "they seem to forget"... Floyd DID fight Mosley at 40 years old... He likes to say he fought Shane after one of his biggest victories.... Margarito. REALLY? A convicted cheat? How good really was Margarito? Sure he stopped Cotto, who had never been stopped, but the very next fight, Marg got caught trying to pack plaster in his hand wraps. Are we led to believe he was trying that trick out for the first time, or is there a chance the fight before against Cotto, he pulled the stunt off???? Because Cotto had never taken that kind of a beating before, and hasn't taken one since... in fact he came back and destroyed Margarito. So we don't know how good Margarito was, and we do know Mosley was 40. Why did Floyd make Cotto and Mosley wait more than 10 years to fight him. TIMING? Wait until Mosley is old and past his prime, wait for Cotto to have too many wars? The same reason Floyd wouldn't fight Pacquiao in Manny's prime. Ellerbe likes to say Austin Trout is nothing, then why didn't Floyd go up and fight for his title after he beat Cotto? Why didn't Floyd fight Sergio Martinez in his prime? Floyd has ALWAYS been Smoke & Mirrors. Floyd has fought nobody. He says "Champions" but in this day and age, those champions are a dime a dozen. Oscar clearly beat Floyd, got screwed from a decision, and Floyd wouldn't take a $25M rematch to fight Oscar. Now Floyd is guessing this kid Canelo is too young, not in shape, lacks experience, will succumb to the pressure of such a large event, and on and on... Provided Floyd doesn't run, he gets knocked out by Canelo. End of story.Comment
