Putting it in the US makes no sense. Beltran cannot draw a crowd there. He's the victim of his own willingness to fight anyone, anywhere.

Stick it on an undercard and you lose out on a 7-9k crowd and TV money. That doesn't make sense either. But one thing is for sure, Ricky Burns is not ducking Beltran. He said straight away that he'd give him a rematch.
So if all this is true why not fight in the US?!? Doesn't ****y Burns have a bigger following than Darren Barker? He just fought in AC and he had fans there.

So he'll fight Crawford an unknown fighter on the rise, but he won't fight Beltran, I guess you might as well be compensated when ass whooping is headed your way.
@ Beltran being a "hot commodity". He's a guy with several losses, no following, no tv backing and no title. He's irrelevant.

As for Ricky himself, he would fight Beltran (or anyone else for that matter) anywhere, because he is a fighting man.

I don't blame Beltran's team for not wanting to come over again, but if they want a big fight they might not have a choice.

Also, Beltran looked OK against a man with a broken jaw for 10 rounds. He still couldn't put him away. Assuming Ricky makes a full recovery, he will beat the brakes off Beltran.
Beltran does not have one punch knockout power that is why he could not stop him. Although he still broke his jaw anyways.

If Rick Burns were a real fighter, he should fight at a neutral location.

He gave him a beating. That's pretty good for someone who's irrelevant.

Yeah but he's still irrelevant in the big picture. I don't think Burns has a problem with fighting him again but he's not going to lose money by doing it in America. It's just plain common sense which many in this thread don't seem to have.

Whether Beltran is irrelevant or not is not the point. The point is he legitimately lost a fight he should of won, and any rematch should be secured to have unbiased judging. Which, it appears, Great Britain cannot achieve when it comes to Burns.

It very much is the point. No one is going to make a fight in the US just for the sake of Beltran. The fight will happen where it makes the most financial sense and that will be in Scotland. It's simple common sense.

Chilemba, I felt got a raw decision against Bellew in the first fight. What happened? He came back to the UK for the rematch. Same thing will likely happen here unless Burns goes in a different direction.

The thing is Beltran would no doubt travel to the UK again, as he is used to being the away fighter.

He would be so fired up that I rekon he'd stop Burns this time.
