BoxingScene caught up with Paulie Malignaggi who has been doubling as a prize fighter and boxing commentator for some time now and has had major success in both. But the former WBA Welterweight champion may not get in the ring anytime soon if the offers he’s given aren’t to his financial liking.
Malignaggi was adamant about getting a rematch with Adrien Broner after losing a split decision to him this past June but those plans were spoiled as Broner informed BoxingScene he was not interested in a second fight. It was then reported that a fight with Malignaggi and fellow Brooklyn native Zab Judah might be in the works as the co-feature for December 7th on the proposed Devon Alexander-Amir Khan bout.
When Paulie was asked about his next fight and possibly fighting Zab Judah, he informed it would depend if he was properly compensated and if he wasn’t, he had no problem not fighting again. [Click Here To Read More]
I like Paulie....I have no issues with my dude trying to get properly paid but don't be name dropping like that....let the Haymon army eat in peace....should've signed with him instead of b1tching....smh.....c'mon Paulie you bigger than that!!!
Join the fraternity and "step" your game up! U a B side fighter bro despite what u think. U the dude who almost would of could of should of won the fight. Ur whole career basically
I'll give paulie credit for going to a fist fight with pillow punches. That takes a lot of nerve, but like everybody else is saying. He needs to concentrate on commentating, clean up his look (Hollywood calls), and forget about ducking bombs for a living. He has nothing to back anybody up with, his knockouts are rare, everybody knows, and nobody fears him. He has a lot of boxing insight and he's faced enough styles to speak on the subject with some authority. Most people only come to his fights to watch him get beat anyway, or to see the other guy and he can't change that. He's not bad behind a mike.
I think Paulie deserves his pay. After all he did hang with Adrien Broner for 12 rounds when Broner was supposed to be ish, also it seems like he know he's on his way out so why not.
Paula is not needed or wanted in boxing. Paulie has no fan base and turns fans off with his greasy look and gansta antics and slang talking. Not even sure why Paula is announcing. Plus he cannot fight.
Or that could just be your ignorant opinion...Paulie has put up very good fights with top guys regardless of the outcome. Slang talking...you sound like your too old & square to be on this forum..."SLANG" is the language of choice here!!!

Paulie already got his pay. He made over a mil for the Broner fight (there are plenty better fighters who aren't makin that much for 1 fight). He lost and now he's done. I think over the years, he feels his management probably hasn't maximized his earning power (a la Al Haymon) and he's trying to make up for it now.
why do people like malignaggi? his resume is worse than berto's.
He's funny, charismatic and a good commentator. And I respect his heart in battle - even though he often talks about boxing just being a job/cheque to him, he still doesn't phone in his performances, he fights his ass off.
Saying that, I simply can't stand watching the guy fight, there is absolutely no sense of danger because he can't punch. There are so many good fights out there to be, and ARE being made, I would be perfectly happy not seeing him fight again.
