  • Comments Thread For: Odlanier Solis vs. Franklin Lawrence in October?

Olympic gold medal winner Odlanier Solis (20-1, 13 KOs) is possibly going to return to action in the month of October. The Cuban boxer is being touted to face Franklin Lawrence (19-2-2, 14 KOs), who has scored big wins over Lance Whitaker and Jason Estrada, and undefeated since a 2009 decision loss to former champion Oliver McCall. For Solis, this would be his third fight of the year, and the first time he held three fights within a single year since 2009.

Franklin who? Honestly, Solis is the biggest joke in HW today. Such a waste of talent.

Lawrence is a B-level fringe contender and a fight against him is a step in the right direction for Solis. As much as I hate Solis, I think he'd beat Lawrence because of the disparity in boxing skill.

Of course heīd f***ing beat Lawrence, but who cares? Get in shape and fight a top ten guy or retire. You just canīt have pro boxing as a hobby. Solis is 33 yo so he really has some decisions to make.

why can't he have it as a hobby? if he's making money I don't think he cares. the guy looks like he can take a nap in between rounds. franklin Lawrence has moved up the rankings the last couple years. he's top 15 in a couple of the bodies I believe. as BG said it's a step in the right direction. Lawrence can **** a bit but shouldn't give solis much trouble. how many rounds it goes is probably how long solis feels like fighting...

              X2

Will this really be Solis's third fight this year? I swear, I had no idea. This underachieving slug has had such meaningless action that I honestly had no idea he'd even fought this year. I suppose, somewhere in the back of my mind I knew Odlanier had a bout in 2013, but I certainly don't remember two.

If this idiot has half a brain he'll forever regret having pissed away his God-given talent and potential. Once his boxing "career" is over, he'll be washing cars somewhere under the hot Florida sun.

He obviously doesn't care, but he should. If you're going to do this thing, you may as well do it right. Otherwise, what's the point? He's making peanuts fighting these BS matches. If Solis just put some effort into what he's doing, he'd be making far, far more. My mom used to tell me a refrain in Spanish, "The lazy work twice as hard."

It's now or never for Oleander.....Poop or get off the pot. He has a lot of talent and needs to make it happen soon, along with a Weight Watcher's program.

He is probably going to win what pisses me off about him is that he is one of the few in the sport that could reach the top despite his height. But he chooses to be content with just getting by through mediocre fights with his talent alone just because he can it is fking infuriating.
