Can someone help me understand this please.

In June 2010 Miguel Cotto defeated Yuri Forman for the WBA Jr Middleweight title. In May of 2012 Floyd Mayweather Defeated Miguel Cotto for the WBA Light middleweight title. In February of 2011 Austin Trout defeated Rigoberto Alvarez for the vacant WBA JR Middleweight title. He defended his belt a couple of times even a month after Mayweather defeated Cotto for his WBA title that cotto had a year prior to Trout. In April 2013 Soul Alverez defeated Austin Trout to unify the WBA and WBC Jr Middleweight titles.

HOW WAS THERE TWO WBA JR MIDDLEWEIGHT CHAMPIONS AT THE SAME TIME? AND WHO IS THE REAL WBA CHAMPION?

2010 Cotto was the WBA super champ. Trout was the regular WBA champ. Right now, Floyd is the super champ and Canelo is the regular champ.

only WBA champs who unify titles are supposed to get "super" status
but the WBA just gives it out for no reason other than fees
Floyd's 18 months outta the JMW division going into the Alvarez fight
FWIW, don't really consider him a titlist at the weight anymore
WBA's status at JMW is cloudy, will buy Alvarez as their titlist for now
if you wanna call him "super" champ for having 2 belts, whatever

But cotto did not unify both their belts but was given the super? which title has the longer history like which is the original? They are still not as bad as the WBC with their diamond, emeritus, interim, regular, silver in one division. Its confusing and sad. Such greed.

Floyd hasn't fought in the division for too long a time to still be a titlist
and Cotto never shoulda been a "super" champ by WBA's own rules
not that any of this crap even matters
next week Floyd will have the WBA and WBC belts, which is what counts

Ok now after reviewing the history. Fernando vargas and Oscar delahoya were the first to fight for the WBA Super World. And the WBA world goes back to 1962. Which is the official title in the division.

I do not keep track of all the paper title going around. Especially in the past few years it has become outrageous. I only follow the official 3 main bodies sometimes WBO and the RING title which is usually giving to the lineal champion whether or not he has any of the other belts or not. So to me the ring is the only one that really counts. But as much as I watched fights I never really paid attention to super world or the world versions of the WBA. Just like I never paid attention until now about all the bogus WBC titles in one division. I know its all about fees. Its just garbage a not only a fighter calls themselves champions when there are like 3 other belts in the division around the waist of other guys. But now you have versions of the same belt in the same division.
