Injuries, just like robberies, are part of boxing. They should make him vacate his belt and give Beltran another shot against a top contender.

        Instead of a steel one

Amir Khan had the same operation. Unfortunately the surgeon messed up and inserted a dinner plate in his jaw.

I just think Burns will sadly waste away in 12-18 months, losing what's left of his prime.

Champ emeritus sounds fair, in the meantime Beltran can fight for the vacant title and when Burns is ready he can try to take it from Beltran.

Who's the next rank fighter? Who fights Beltran for the vacant title if this happens?

i just follow trends. in terms of robberies he's 1 for 1 in his last 1 fight. that's a 100 percent robbery ratio.

Here's the WBO top ten rankings for last month, they're probably gonna bump Beltran up to the top 3 after seeing what he did to Burns.

Hopefully we'll see Beltran vs Crawford for the vacant title.
