Garcia's comments sound like a guy with nervous confidence, trying to talk himself into "I can do this, I can do this"... and yet not really buying it. And few others are either. This fight won't last long, not because of what happened to Lamont Peterson, but who Lucas Matthysse is, and how HE'S been preparing. Matthysse skipped the Promo-tour; he went to camp immediately, didn't miss a day of getting his head in the game, and let Garcia & Golden Boy go on tour. Garcia took too long to sign for this fight. As soon as the fight was proposed to Matthysse, he signed. Garcia wanted the payday, he didn't want the opponent, hence why it took him so long to sign for this fight. Garcia is in trouble, his dad knows he's in trouble, most importantly, Matthysse knows Garcia is in trouble. Garcia's going down in a bloody pile of mess.

Soto had never been knocked down.

Alexander had never been knocked down.

Matthysse has proven his power IMO.

His power is undeniable no doubt indeed, but apart from Peterson he hasn't looked so great against taller, naturally bigger opponents. He lost to Devon so why are you using that example?

To be really objective, I havent seen many of Matthysse opponents get all messed up and bloody. Its more about concussion, like getting hit with a hammer wrapped in leather and they just go down.
Hey! Maybe Danny's lucky and goes down in the first three rounds like Peterson and avoids being beaten to a bloody pulp.
That would be an autcome even Garcia fans would be happy with!

Garcia defense is underrated he catches punches on the gloves doesn't get hit clean that much smart fighter great timing sees punches coming then counter punches if Matthysse comes to kill Garcia he's getting dropped and stopped
