I knew people were going to pretend this proves something. "Herp derp the failed football player got knocked out, that means the hundreds of better athletes out there could never be better."

So was Felix Trinidad. But both, were elite fighters. One started early, one started late. But both had a toughness that separated them from other athletes in other sports.

Roy Jones Jr. is another example of a great athlete with poor defense but great reflexes, his athleticism was so great back in his prime that people could hardly touch him.

                Guess who this is:

                Larry Holmes?

Proves a lot more than the fantasies of the people that still have NFL/NBA posters hanging on their walls.

                  America stayin shook.

But again, everyone is missing the point. There is a different type of toughness and attitude required for boxing. Its one thing to be a great athlete, but can you withstand getting pounded in head over and over and over?

The high majority of athletes can't.

Boxers do, because they are a different breed of athlete.

When people talking about fighters From American Football being part of boxing...they are talking about those Athletes taking of boxing at a young age over the current sport they are in...not taking them from Football Now And Putting Them In Boxing

It is far too late to just jump in boxing when your almost 30
