Size can be also overrated though in a sense that it`s not so much about Ortiz weighing in and blowing up to over 160 pounds at Mayweather, it`s about his strength. Ortiz is not a strong fighter even if he comes in at over 160, he was pushed by Maidana and Josesito.

Floyd may not look the thickest but he`s a very strong WW. Floyd is like BHop and Andre Ward - they don`t look huge, their built looks slim but they are very strong in the clinch or inside. Mosley is a strong guy as well although not the biggest either but the way he was pushing Margarito and Cotto and even DLH. Mosley is a very strong guy.

Now Canelo is very strong guy as well although we`ve seen him push smaller men but you can still see his strength, he`s only 23 and like Floyd he will get stronger.

This is such an interesting match up. I think it will be more of a chess match.

Now people will say Guerrero and Ortiz were bigger - I don;t know it was Guerrero's 3rd fight at WW coming from 135 and Ortiz's second fight at 147. JMM's first fight at 147. Ricky Hatton's second fight at 147. Canelo is asked to fight at 152. Cotto is small but fat and I think he moved to 154 cause he couldn't compete against the elite welter weights. Floyd fighting the bigger guys is an illusion. DLH and to an extent Tata were the only big guys May has faced. We can go back to Corrales and Castillo but that's about it.
I love the revisionist history you provide here. I guess he never moved up for Gatti, Bald, Oscar and everyone after he left 130 basically. Floyd was chasing money when he left 130, not running from the weight. If you remember factually he moved up because he was chasing Oscar even when Oscar said he would never fight him because he was to small. In addition Floyd wanted to fight Cotto at 140 but Arum would not allow it. Floyd is still a small guy and should really be fighting at 140 by the weight cutting standards of today. Just like Manny should be fighting around 135-140. If Floyd listens to Lucas then Lucas will never get a shot because Lucas is a smaller guy moving up.

Canelo is too experienced but he has to take that chance or he might never be able to make the same millions again. If you really love your fighters you'll care more about the money they make then your ego's condition based on if they win or lose.

If you come in the ring heavier than Floyd, you're bigger than Floyd, period.

So Mayweather is not only a ducking, coward who retired and took lay-offs to avoid the competition, but now he only fights the smallest weakest opponents. Sometimes the bs on BS is just too much to ignore. How did the most skilled boxer in the sport become the most inconvenient, lucky, deceitful human being alive. If he's everything the majority of people on here say he is, why is over a million of us getting ready to pay $74 a pop to watch him fight?

Listen, I personally watch him cause I love his skills and I have his career DVD set. That being said though I can't really say that Mayweather hasn't had a soft road in his career compared to other greats like Barrera, Morales, Pacquiao, Marquez, DLH, Pernel, Tito, Bernard, Andre Ward, Mosley, Tim Bradley.

I mean out of any legend out there Floyd has one of the weakest, most carefully picked resumes but if you want to preserve that 0 that's what you gotta do.

Man, you're an idiot why didn't he fight JMM at 135 then instead of making him weigh in at 144 and still missed weight, Mayweather that is.

Just strolled through the tread to see how much hate Lucas would garner from calling the fight 50/50. Not surprised to see the results tbh. There's a reason why this fight is at a catchweight. And that reason does not favor Canelo in the slightest.

Two guys who were NATURALLY smaller men than Floyd were Hatton and Marquez. Hatton is a stretch considering how he ballooned up in between fights. Anyone else you say were smaller men is complete bull****
