With the exceptions of, Hatton, Marquez, Jesus Chavez, and Carlos Hernandez. Floyd has always fought bigger opponents.

I stopped caring and reading after that line lol. Like what? Cotto Oscar mosley victor in recent fights were all bigger. Guerrero is taller but Floyd been welter longer but size playing no part in that. Only Marquez and hatton moved up to fight Floyd. Hatton naturally is bigger than Floyd. I don't think so - Ricky Hatton, Zab, Sahrmba, JMM, Guerrero, Ortiz, Cotto

Now people will say Guerrero and Ortiz were bigger - I don;t know it was Guerrero's 3rd fight at WW coming from 135 and Ortiz's second fight at 147. JMM's first fight at 147. Ricky Hatton's second fight at 147. Canelo is asked to fight at 152. Cotto is small but fat and I think he moved to 154 cause he couldn't compete against the elite welter weights. Floyd fighting the bigger guys is an illusion. DLH and to an extent Tata were the only big guys May has faced. We can go back to Corrales and Castillo but that's about it.

So essentially Mayweather hasn't faced a big guy in his division with skills and in his prime since the Castillo fights and now he's facing somebody that I believe is better and he's asking him for a catchweight. Mayweather is a brilliant strategist.

How he avoided PWill, Cotto, Margarito, Pacquiao, Clottey at WW by retiring and instead fought Sharmba, Tata and Zab is just plain genius as far as self-preservation and marketing go.

He fights Cotto at 154 where Cotto is arguably a worse fighter. He no longer has the strength there and he's slower and even shorter.

He fights JMM at 144 he misses weight though and comes in at 146 - btw this is a guy that supposedly is a 140 pounder. Ricky Hatton struggles in his one fight at 147. Mayweather fights him at 147 instead of 140 - once again Floyd is supposedly a 140 pounder. He fights Ortiz after Ortiz beats Berto but gets gutted by Marcos Maidana and later by Josesito Lopez. He fights Guerrero who started at 122 if I am not mistaken.

They are not bad fighters at all but just the timing and selection process by Mayweather is pure genius. I haven`t seen better.

Then he doesn`t get a 1 mil buys against Guerrero and he`s essentially forced into a tough fight with Canelo and we have the catchweight. If Canelo is good with the weight though Floyd will be in great trouble just for the mere fact that Canelo is like nobody else Floyd has fought. Canelo is also probably one of the boxers with the highest boxing IQ.

actually you are right. Cant say Ortiz or Guerrero are bigger, they were new to division and Cotto was at 154, but lets be honest he should still be at WW

Now the media is brainwashing people to believe that Keith Thurman is a huge 5 10 monster at WW, which is another illusion. One time is no taller than Broner and Floyd will fight him down the line and Broner and there will be talk of how Keith is huge. Did you see Keith against this Argentinian guy who is listed at 5 7 and a half and who I thought was bigger than Keith. Keith Thurman has also now been listed as the same height on boxrec but a year back I thought he was listed there as 5 9 and some people were saying he was 5 10. This is an illusion.
