When you're a top 10 ATG you can criticise whoever the fuck you want.

I agree with Duran. A lot of great posts which I also agree with.....basically Martinez is a good fighter, I never saw the greatness that people claim. He is an ambush type fighter....a novalty for sure but a guy with footwork is not so easy to work that way.

Martinez has the tactics and power to work on guys who are naturally bigger than him....kudos. The Pavlick fight for example. Pavlik is a guy who had some skills but never had any real footspeed.

For me it really does not matter if Sergio could, or couldn't hang in Durans era. Duran just has nothing good to say about anybody. He really is just an old man that is stuck in the days of his youth. And we all have, or had grand parents, in their day everything was better.

Of course he would have a shot. Duran was slower, heavier and older when he was fighting as a middleweight. It's not absurd to suggest that a good, speedy, mobile boxer could beat him. But I still wouldn't be certain of him doing so.

Go ahead and list your ten greatest fighters of all time. I would hate to think that you were mindlessly parroting others rather than a genuine belief based on a real understanding of the sports history and it's fighters (that dates beyond the three or four decades, of course.)

Exactly, the same Barkley that knocked Thomas Hearns out 6 months before losing to Duran.
