Some fighters don't follow the sport. I remember pac not knowing who rios was a couple of years ago and now he is fighting him lol.

That was a lie. They were both being promoted by top rank and it was after the incident were Rios and Margarito were making fun of Roach. He knew who Rios was he said that in a interview to to take a shot at Rios IMO.

Most fighters really don't follow the sport, it's pretty weird.

I've always felt trainers and promoters like it that way because it keeps them in the dark.

Sure, but he knows Matty, whom really just hit the mainstream, hence he just signed with Al Haymon, whereas Danny has been on @ least 2 ppv undercards, and just headlined a main event vs Judah. Also when he KO Khan which was considered an upset, I'm pretty sure Danny's name and the KO was floating in the boxing world. Had mayweather/ Pac said they didn't know of GGG guys would have an heart attack

GGG should know Danny because Danny is a champ, not because he's American. Him being an American is relevant only to American fans. I'm from Canada and nobody I know knows who Danny is.

Maybe he heard the name but didnt bother watching Garcia fight.
Danny has been a champ for like a year and he's not that exciting as a fighter. I see how a top boxer may only watch guys from other divisions that he finds entertaining, and given that GGG is a KO guy I understand how another top KO artist like Matthysse may have caught his attention.
Lets get real here, Danny beat an expired Morales and was getting killed by Khan until he got lucky. Take that away and hes a mediocre boxer that stands in front of the opponent and takes a beating trying to land a left hook.

That's how I'm seeing this as well. Why would a middleweight care about a junior welterweight? It's not like he is friends with anyone Garcia's fighting recently, at least not that I know of.

Lets get real Danny KO Kahn, beat Judah 9-3 rounds, oh and he's undefeated! Also Garcia's recent KO's has been just as impressive. Guys keep taking away from Garcia and not giving him his credit. Okay Morales was shot, but Mike Dallas come on had 3 loses and was KO by Jose Sito Lopez. For Matty, Peterson more than likely been doping up until the kahn win, was a great win, but most felt " I think Peterson won a SD"Peterson really lost to Kahn, has been down twice vs Ortiz, twice vs Khan and of all who's not considered a power puncher twice vs Bradley.
