He seems to know Matthysse and is going for him in the fight. I thought it was strange given that Garcia being the champ and being American should be much better known.

I believe he's honest...seems to be a fan of Matthysse and has no clue about Garcia! He's also changed his mind about Canelo! I recall an earlier interview he claimed Canelo would have no chance.

so any other boxer who says they dont know another boxer is full of it..but GGG is authentic!..could it be that most boxers dont really follow the sport!!?!!
