my issue with ward is his recent inactivity. he doesn't fight enough for a p4p guy in my eyes. much of that isn't his fault, however, with injuries, the pavlik fiasco, and the SS having already matched him with many of his prospective opponents.
I agree. As for his wins...He has had some good wins. But i think if he fought more and more of a statement he could very well concrete himself in a P4p #1 spot. But hes not putting in the work.

Floyd is a champion at 147 and 154 and Canelo must fight him at 152. That is only 5 pounds more than Mayweather fights at.If Canelo can beat Mayweather clearly then why wouldn't he get Mayweather's spot as the best fighter in the world? He would have done what no other fighter has done at 147 or 154.Why would Ward who has been out of action for a year become #1 for something Canelo did? It's just a matter of opinion and in my opinion if Canelo can beat the best then he is the best and a 5 pound weight edge should not prevent that. Mayweather and Canelo are close enough to the same size that Canelo becomes the best if he wins.

Should be JMM. Ward is a commentator now.

P4P is not a championship, you don't take it from a guy, and it's passed on etc. Floyd is a smaller fighter, despite the fact he has a belt at 154. Had it been the other way around, ie Canelo being the smaller fighter moving up to challenge Floyd at a higher weight, I would agree because that would be amazing. Even if Canelo wins, you can't say for sure that P4P Canelo is better than Floyd, just because Canelo has that weight advantage which is his only way of winning. Ward wouldn't get credit for Canelo's win, he'd just move up by default given Mayweather was recently defeated

Dinamita Marquez takes p4p #1 but its not likely Floyd is losing.

GGG needs to prove him self against world class competition first (something that Ward has done repeatedly). You don't get a shot at the champ without beating some more accomplished fighters.

Between Sept 14th and October 12th it will be Ward, thereafter Marquez if he beats Bradley.

                      I think Bradley wins though.
