  • Comments Thread For: Arreola Wants To Avenge Losses To Stiverne, Adamek

Heavyweight contender Chris Arreola recently visited with us on BoxingScene Radio to talk about a variety of topics.

In his most recent ring appearance, Arreola started off well against Bermane Stiverne but was knocked down and suffered a broken nose in the third round. Arreola dug down deep and was able to finish the fight but admitted that once he broke his nose, he wasn't able to fight the way he wanted to. [Click Here To Read More]

he can beat both of them in my opinion. the stiverne fight changed the minute he broke his nose. props for still coming forward and going 12. he needs to stop talking about these 2 and worry about mitchell. mitchell may have a weak chin but he has ko power in both hands, throws to the body and has good handspeed. he throw power combinations as well. he is a finisher. mitchell is a poor mans oleg maskaev.

If Arreola demolishes Mitchell then Adamek at this point can be 50/50. If he can stay in shape and beat Adamek I wouldnt mind another war with stiverne with a slimmer quicker arreola.

      all big ifs though.

He should avenge his first defeat: against the all mighty Burrito and its trainer Beer. Losing to them made him fat and slow.

he could beat Stiverne, but not Adamek
Adamek is too quick and versatile for Arreola to deal with
Stiverne just outdueled him in a straight up fight
Arreola might lose to Mitchell though, that's a pick em fight
just can't see Arreola's fatass accomplishing much against top guys

I'd steer clear of a rematch with Stiverne. I could actually see him getting beat easier the second time around.

so much hate on arreola, and did u guys not see the recent pictures of him training? he looks pretty slimmed down, looks like he's around 220, never seen him that skinny granted in the pics he had a shirt on but still, and anyone has the ability to keep their weight at a healthy level...its all mental toughness

Adamek is booked for awhile. He has fights lined up with Charlie zelenoff, rid**** Bowe, James toney, and Muhammad Ali. Areola will have to wait.

It seemed to me a few years ago like Arreola was going to be the next great American heavy weight but I think is dedication to the sport is inconsistent at best. He should worry about Mitchell before he start worrying about what happened in the past.
