i think erik did. the way he looked after the fight and how he responded to larry merchant showed that he wanted to quit boxing now. but it still remains to be seen. in some cases he probably needed some time to think it over and sort things out. i think morales is a natural warrior and if ever he decides to fight again, he will settle his unfinished business with manny. a grudge match was written in the contract anyway. i think he would need a tune up fight or two and if he won all of them convincingly, who knows we could see another thrilling fight between these two future hall of famers once again.
good points bro ..
MAB also rested after his defeat at the hands of PAC and he came back in two fights after beating EM, so i am still giving EM two fights to fully asses where he is at...
barrera suffered the worst beating, at least morales made it competitive up until round 6. barrera got absolutely destroyed, i watched the fight about 2 days ago to see who got the worst beating out of MAB and morales, MAB only won 1 round against pacman, it was definatly barrera who got beaten up worse and the punch stats comfirm this:
barrera vs pacman:
total punches landed:
barrera - 172 out of 547 = 31%
pacman - 309 out of 838 = 37%
jabs:
barrera - 71 out of 285 = 25%
pacman - 52 out of 268 = 19%
power punches:
barrera - 101 out of 262 = 39%
pacman - 257 out of 570 = 45%
Total Punches
Morales: 184 of 644, 29%
Pacquiao: 196 of 795 25%
Power Shots
Morales: 107 of 321, 33%
Pacquiao: 171 of 537, 32%
now consider this, pacman landed more POWER SHOTS on barrera compared to his total punches on morales which includes jabs and power shots!! pacman landed 196 punches on morales, but pacman landed over 300 punches on barrera and they were mostly all power shots. he hit barrera over 100 more times than morales.
so in order of worst beatings i would go with:
1. barrera
2.morales
3.JMM - he actually did alright after the first 2-3 rounds, he was able to neutralize pacmans left hand.
Morales. Becau Pac threw all his punches. ALOT to the body too. and just look at his face when Larry interviewed. Lookin like a cast fo The Ring 3 or sums shyt. LOL ROFLMAO at this LOZR!!!!!!!!
Wow, do you really think that the Pac/Marquez fight should have been halted in the 1st round?
I mean, Juan Manuel got caught and caught flush. Everytime he hit the deck he got up clear and alert. I can see if he got up off the canvas groggy and not knowing what hit him. But he appeared to have all of his senses together after every trip to the canvas.
I think Cortez did a great job not to stop the fight and it showed by the rounds proceding. I have the same opinion in the Corrales/Castillo fight. I know Diego spit out of his mouthpiece but when he rose from the canvas both times he clearly had his wits about him and both Joe Cortez in the Marquez fight and Tony Weeks in the Corrales fight recoginized that. Great job guys.
The worst beating I have ever seen Pac dish out was in his title winning match against the classy Lehlo Ledwaba.
Pac was a supposed to be a fill in and he went out and delivered as brutal a beating as I have ever seen. I believe the fight only lasted 6 rounds but it appeared that after three Lehlo's nose and his cheekbones were busted.
Not many fights make me feel real sad but I felt horrible for Lehlo-Pac took his entire career from him in 6 rounds.

**** that was a brutal fight. The way Ledwaba was staggering around towards the end was painful to watch.
How about that guy who was on FNF last week? Rakkiatgym. Floored four times by Pac in one round and then out cold for like half an hour afterwards.
