POLL: Morrison vs. Klitschko

If he had a lack of heart he would have quit when Joe Hipp broke his jaw or when he got knocked down 3x vs Bentt.Unless he jumped on Wladimir and caught him cold in the first minute of the fight I don't see him beating any version of Klitscko. I'm sorry, but Morrison didn't have good stamina and his heart was questionable IMO. May he rest in peace but let's not try and reinvent the man because he passed. He had a good, ableit short run even beating Big George Forman. His record in boxing will stand on it's own.
You can second guess a lot of things about Tommy but heart wasn't one of them. He never, ever quit in a fight.Comment

Morrison would have a chance maybe at the "unmotivated" wlad... he did get KO'd by lesser fighters. but no way today's wlad loses to him... people underestimate wlad as an all around athlete. he's very athletic for a heavyweightComment

Any version of Wlad keeps Morrison at the end of his jab just like Lewis did and stops him mid rounds. I'm glad we agree quitting shows a lack of heart though TS. Unlike the other Klitschko there was never any quit in Morrison.

I guess I'm basing off his TKO losses. It seems it was more the result of him being unwilling to fight any more rather than him not being physically able to finish. He always has the same dejected look on his face Jab Judah gets when he's been KO'd. But in all fairness, I'm not the one to question a professional boxer's heart when I've never been in the ring. So, point taken.Comment

The poll results pretty much speaks volumes for my point in starting it in the first place.
Tommy was very underappreciated. Holyfield got credit for beating old Foreman but Morrison's more decisive win goes unnoticed because of his short reign.
Not to mention, he starched Ruddock with one shot when Tyson took two fights to knock him out.Comment

You're an imbecile when it comes to boxing, this has already been proven. The only thing the poll speaks volumes of is sentiment for the recently deceased. Morrison could have been an ATG had he a chin, stamina and defense. But the fact is he didn't and his career was much more up and down than pre Manny Wlad. Every heavyweight has a punchers chance. But when you analytically look at it Wlad's jab will be the deciding factor. If you think you can make an argument against this than please do. My guess is you will avoid my post again knowing I'm right.Comment

morrison would have lost to both versions of wlad. wlad too strong...too good a jabHey guys, as you probably already know, one time heavyweight champ and fan favorite Tommy Morrison passed away this past sunday night. RIP Duke.
This poll is to honor him in a way and see how most of us believed he would have fared against the current lineal heavyweight champ Wladimir Klitschko at his absolute best. That left hook was as good as they get and he had heart and stamina.
Personally, I think he would have done very well against the pre-Steward Wladimir and could have possibly stopped him.
That said, no way he's competitive vs. the current version of Wlad.
Vote. Discuss. Thanks.Comment

morrisons stamina was the worst part of his game. he tended to get arm weary after just 3 or 4 roundsLol, he got caught by a big shot vs. Mercer and couldn't defend against the rest of the barrage. Tommy had good stamina and always did well in the later rounds.
Also, getting knocked out by Mercer and Lennox doesn't tell the whole tale of his chin. He stood up to huge shots from other massive punchers including when he got his jaw broke by Joe Hipp and still went on to knock him out for the 'W'.Comment
