Comments Thread For: Canelo: You Need a Plan A, B and C for Mayweather

LAS VEGAS - If Canelo Alvarez is awestruck by the prospect of trying to do something that no one else has done - defeat pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather - he doesn't show it.

Canelo maintained the same cool, calm expression throughout a nine-city press tour to promote "THE ONE: Mayweather vs. Canelo" - the highly anticipated, super welterweight world championship pay-per-view showdown at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday, Sept. 14. It was the look of a man who is never hurried and never worried. All business.

Is Canelo "THE ONE?'' [Click Here To Read More]

the "Future" understands that Floyd is the best but, just like him, im confident he will be victorious come Sept 14th. Canelo will show he is not all hype and i will laugh at all the flip flop on NSB

Has there even been a fighter of Floyd's quality who has gone so long without a KD?

I don't really count the Judah one. Yeah, glove touched, off balance, right good timing, but that's a pretty low barometer. I mean a real KD?

Definitely gonna need multiple plans against Floyd. But after Alvarez execute plan a he would be gassing out already. And when plan b start it would be round 12 already and wont be able to execute plan c. Floyd by UD

He's 100% right. That's why when people try and figure out a formula to beat Mayweather, I just don't see it.

You can talk about something as far as strategy, but executing it in the ring is something completely different.

Canelo needs to be prepared to do everything and anything to beat Mayweather. I just think in the end, pressure is his best bet.

Canelo needs to be a game fighter from round 1. If he's game for the first couple rounds yet still finds himself behind then you switch your game plan and try something else. It's the only way to tell if what your doing really isn't working. A lot of fighters make the mistake of not following their initial game plan correctly and then switch. That negates everything you worked on in camp. Don't fight so ****ty that your trainer cant tell if its you or the game plan that's wrong.
