Floyd and his camp feeling the backlash of the CW and wanna try to flip the script and say Canelo's team mentioned it. For a guy who is so successful and as good as Floyd is, he is one insecure dude. Everybody knows Floyd's team didnt want to fight at 154. ****, Floyd's pops was saying it had to be at 147 didn't he??? Lol these ninjas are fuqqing ******. Or just think that we are fuqqing ******. And even if it was that Canelo's manager who brought it up, why not say "I ain't no fuqqing Pacquiao, I don't fight ninjas at cw's. I want them to be comfortable". Lol

So going by Ellerbe's logic then Canelo should not incur a loss on his record if he comes up short on Sept. 14 right?
I mean, Floyd said on boxing scene that he thought Cotto was an undefeated fighter one because Margarito was cheating and two because Pacquiao fought him at a catch weight.
So if Cotto doesn't get a loss then neither does Canelo right?????

Just cut the BS man, your not fooling anybody. I am sure Canelo's team will address this once and for all during fight week. Showtime forced the fight to happen after they lost money on the Guerrero fight and Floyd's team went after every advantage they could. Hey, they are the A side they can make those demands, but Ellerbe makes Mayweather look like a clown when he tries to act like it wasn't them that asked for it....

Only morons would buy into this.

This reminds of when he tried to say they were watching Hatton vs Castillo and Floyd said "Make the ***ing fight"

As if it was never on the cards until that point

Why would canelo team send out an offer for a catchweight in the first place? Feelers were out there for a catchweight years before this was made. Floyd's a douche for agreeing to it anyways shows how cowardice he is fighting the "best" fighters at their weakest.

I cannot see 2lbs being a big deal for someone as young as Canelo. If anything it might whip him in better shape, as long as he did it correctly.

If the fight was at 147, or even 150, there might be a better argument. Still though, if he signed the papers, that is on them, not Floyd's team.

I totally agree with you fam. It's not Floyd's team fault that Canelo agreed to the catchweight, that he brought up. Ellerbe was right, it was on two different websites, boxingscene being one.

WBC junior middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (39-0-1, 29KOs) is willing to drop a few pounds to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr. (42-0, 26KOs). Mayweather i

you misread my post. I said I DOUBT Mayweather would've fought Canelo at 154. And you're wrong about catchweights. It's as fair as it'll get between two fighters in different divisions. They are meeting in between. You could say the lower weight fighter has the advantage, but at least he's giving some weight to the heavier fighter rather than draining him completely to the full advantage of the lower fighter's comfort level. So in a way you could say Floyd has the advantage, but that's not necessarily true. A heavy fighter is still a threat and wouldn't take the challenge if he knew he don't stand a chance.

"Blah blah blah blah blah" said Ellerbe. Thats what I see when I read or hear Ellerbe speak. Dude needs to change his title from the nonexistent mayweather promotions CEO to club president of the PBF FAN CLUB. Come out of the closet already. Anyways this catchweight fight is bs. The way I see it is on the mayweather camp why it's happening. He's the one that the shot called in the fight. And Ellerbe saying they asked for it and its canelos dumb management why it's happening. Well canelo and his management did put it out there that they would fight him at a catchweight only on the basis to sweeten the deal and make the fight happen.

But where i put the blame on Floyd is if be really wanted to fight canelo and if weight really doesn't matter to him. He would have been a real man anx stood by his words in the past and said **** that I don't need you to come down in weight, I want you at the weight you are comfortable. Like hehas said in the past about other fighters he's fought. But nope he didn't so be has to take the flack he is getting.

I don't blame Canelo for asking for a catchweight. He didn't think the fight would be made so he was willing to sweeten the deal. It's on Floyd for making this fight a catchweight fight because be should have stood by his words and fight the fight where the fighter is most comfortable.

You didn't so feel the backlash you hypocrite.

Ok, so team Canelo mentioned it. Then team Floyd enforced it. But then mr ellerbe probably forgot that it was Floyd's team who stated they'd only fight Canelo at 147.
