    Canelo's Combinations

People are saying his combinations are the key to beating Floyd but when I thought about it, Canelo didn't land any meaningful combinations against Trout. The big shots were all Single shots.

Does Canelo have a chance if he can't land his combinations.

Let me know what you think

Was the Trout fight the only Canelo fight you've seen?

I think he'll need to be as active as he was in the lopez fight, his best chance is early on in the fight, if he can hurt floyd enough he'll stand a good chance but ofcourse that's easier said than done, but is possible.

No I've been following Canelo since he got his rip off win over Miguel Vasquez.
Trout is the only great/elite fighter Canelo has fought and Trout took away the combinations.

So **** off, you pathetic fan boy

I agree, although I think Floyd will win, a Canelo KO is in the cards if he can land consistently.

People apply the Trout fight to Floyd way too much IMO. It doesnt matchup when Trout is way bigger than Floyd and most of all a Southpaw. You arent going to land as many combos on an Southpaw as you would on an Orthodox fighter

I don't think it's the punches he chooses to land I think it's the one that lands unexpected in flurry. If you watch mayweather vs cotto when cotto decided to really put them together with power behind his shots one was getting through maybe even two and some times Floyd would drop his left shoulder and the over hand right would land or a body shot get inside short. It's more about the wear and tear if he decides to trade in the pocket on the ropes I think Canelo is capable of hurting Floyd by accident more so than with intention. Canelo might be the hardest puncher Floyd has fought and yes gurrero actually countered off of Floyd's right hand for first 3 rounds but after that it was frustrating and mentally he broke down. He couldn't string together anything. Two people stamina down at the same length but Floyd carries his more efficient and his history proved that. I wouldn't be surprised if Floyd is superior in combos while Canelo head hunts. I wouldn't be surprised if Floyd is more dominant to the body while Canelo just backs up and repeatedly restarts trying to figure out a rhythm

This is true. BUT I truly believe Floyd's reflexes and defensive prowess more than make up for the southpaw stance and size. I think it premature to assume it's harder to land on Trout than on the best Defensive fighter of the era.

Ok, tough guy. Sometimes I wonder why I even bother participating in debates on boxingscene. It's getting pathetic.

nelo was rippin mosley with combos. that's mosley tho, no legs.

I thought about how THAT would be his stategy but floyds jab would stop that before it starts. plus floyd elusive, so no.
