I Actually cried to hear this news. He was so alone after his diagnosis, so abandoned, I felt so bad for him.
Yes....there was a sense that no one knew for sure what was going on. A rare syndrome (Epstein Barre(?)) was touted as a possability, etc. Part of the problem being that in many Aids related deaths the person actually passes because of something the Aids causes.
People still don't really understand how epidemic this complex (Aids) is....Socially we are still so stigmatized by it! This often blocks efforts to deal aggressively with treatment when (and if) someone consents to a test.
I have watched Tommy since the very early days of his career and also followed what has happened since his diagnosis in 1996. Its so sad that he could never face up to his illness as he would still not only be alive, but also healthy as well. That said, all we can do is walk our own path. RIP Tommy Morrison.
