Comments Thread For: Chavez Jr. Gives His Take on Mayweather vs. Canelo

This same time last year Julio Cesar Chavez Jr was a couple weeks away from the biggest and most difficult fight of his career as he was ready to tangle with pound for pound fighter Sergio Martinez. The son of a legend risked his title and his undefeated record against a fighter who many thought would never be able to get Chavez in the ring after numerous failed attempts.

While it was commendable of Chavez to finally step up and take on Martinez, he unfortunately came up short in the biggest test of his career. He did however manage to give us one of the most dramatic moments in recent memory as he was able to hurt and knock Martinez down in the 12th round but wasn’t able to finish him. In the end, the moment only masked the previous one sided 11 rounds where Martinez controlled the fight. [Click Here To Read More]

Jr risk his title and did a commendable thing to face Martinez?

He was his mandatory for a while on that sham that HBO, the WBC and Arum concoCted.

At least Jr. fights guys in his weight class that people has heard of unlike his countrymen who want the advantage of his size over smaller guys he'll outweigh by 20-30lbs. Also no one in Jr's camp ask for a catch weight then start complaining when his opponent calls his bluff. Last but not least, Jr's fan base respected Sergio's accomplishments and didn't bring up some cat who a blind man could see is hiding something he's been doing to his body by not taking a simple little test........

For me its not about all the talk and bashing here its left up to the two in the ring.

How bad does Canelo want it ?

Will he wait for the Counter right and dip to the left of Mayweather , which is boringly predictable.

Will he stop that dip to the right with a LEFT HOOK and not a free swinging rip yer head off left hook to the head that will miss ????

        I can only hope,

Out with the OLD S### and in with the NEW

IF a firefight breaks out and its a skulldrag to the finish and JR KO's Canelo in WW3 then I promise to behave properly and give him what yall call

        cudo's ?

If Canelo gets frustrated and follows the ballerina boy around and free swings, then its just another borefest.

IF Canelo wins , good for him to show the world who the fraud has really been.

IF JR wins by his ballerina act, the jury is still out. Don't get me wrong, he is the WORLDS GREATEST BALLERINA ACT !!!

by the way all the talk about SRR , HE had umpteen losses, how could he be the greatest of all time using the scale yall use today ?

lol, Chavez outweighed Martinez by about 30 pounds on fight night. Alvarez just beat Trout, a very big JMW champion. Floyd is the one making a 154 pound champion fight for the 154 pound belt at 152. So who is using weight to their advantage again?

I think oneon11 has been smoking with Chavez Jr. He's confused.

Another boxing trainer on the outside looking in. Someone who praise a guy that will kill hisself dropping down 154 but scared of ward, so I guess you want Floyd to stand toe to toe with a guy that 20lb heavier than him

Yes. Everybody gives hints on how to beat Money May, of course, from outside the three point line, and when they get to the paint, is another story. And why if he's so boringly predictable with his straight right and duck to the right like that guy says, nobody has ever done ***** in 44 tries? So easy, a caveman could do it. Yeah right!

he potshots with.the right then dips to his left,he does it in every fight .if canelo can anticipate it coming.he can slip that, and catch mayweather with a right uppercut.it may take a few tries but its a possibility!nothing is imposible in boxing, ask mike tyson that.
