Donaire fought tomato cans in 2012, The first two put up a fight.

Vazquez Jr And Mathebula gave donaire his toughest challenges in 2012 but are still tomato cans none the less. The other two were expired tomato cans that both realized that and retired after they lost.

How did Donaire get FOTY over fighters like Juan Manuel Marquez, Sergio Martinez, Danny Garcia, Robert Guerrero and Adrien Broner.

donaire just got schooled, be happy about that. stop dwelling on some award that nobody really pays too much attention too.

Does anyone remember fighter of the year in 2011? Exactly.

      1) None of those four guys were "tomato cans". They were current or former title holders in or not too far removed from their prime.

      2) Vazquez won maybe 3 rounds against Donaire, but since he didn't get blown out like most expected, a lot of people somehow convinced themselves that it was a "close" fight.

      3) Mathebula's keepaway arm punching convinced some of the more gullible that he was in the fight, but in reality, he was in full survival mode after the KD in the 4th.

      4) Nishioka was the consensus no.1 guy at 122, and when Donaire fought Vazquez and Mathebula, his haters were like "he wants no part of Nishioka". But after Donaire beat him, he was suddenly old and shopworn.

      5) Arce was on a nice run that included one of his career best wins, and outweighed Donaire by 6 pounds on fight night, but to some, he was "shot and undersized".

      6) If you thought Martinez, Garcia, Guerrero and Broner had a campaign worthy of FOTY consideration in 2012, you don't know much about boxing.

      7) Don't you realize that by trashing Donaire, you are taking away from your boy Rigo, too? Donaire is by far his best win you know.

You seem to forget during that scope of time, Donaire was 'all mighty'.

Fighters such as Nishioka and Arce were still considered very dangerous 'round here.

You are crazy or trolling. Donaire fought three reigning would champs in 2012. The best of any fighter in 2012.

This is a troll thread, but well done for breaking down the facts. The TS's op stands up as well as Pele's **** before viagra was invented.

This thread was created by a 'boxing fan' who thinks Boner has 'a better fighting style and chin than Sugar Ray Leonard'.

Why can't ya'll just appreciate an elite fighter who ACTUALLY stays busy? When was the last time any fighter on the Top P4P list fought 4 times in one year? Give Nonito some praise for robbing the division of all the belts in one year!

When the fights Nonito wanted to get made against more credible opposition fell through, instead of waiting it out and relaxing, Donaire decided to at least stay busy and fight some pretty good opposition.
