Comments Thread For: Robert Garcia Clears The Air on Donaire-Gradovich

BoxingScene ran a story yesterday where manager Cameron Dunkin revealed a fight with Nonito Donaire and current IBF Featherweight champion Evgeny Gradovich would be possible for next year should Donaire get passed his now confirmed rematch with Vic Darchinyan in November. What was more surprising was that Dunkin was quoted as saying Robert Garcia, the trainer for both fighters, had already said he would 100% be siding with Donaire and would be working his corner instead of Gradovich’s if the fight took place.

You know Garcia is going to take sides, the dude is a pay guy, whoever pays him the most he will work, he is basically Top Rank's guy he trains whoever Arum tells him to.

I will say this the Mexican Russian has a big chance at beating nonito, he is much bigger, and Nonito to me seems weak, he won't be able to carry his power at 126-130 his body type and the guys are just massive for their size at that division, you have guys who cut from 150-160 pounds to make 126-130.

I believe Dib had a rematch clause against Gradovich? I don't think he has a choice if Dib chooses to go that route.

I agree. I'm not sure why everyone is blasting Donaire for this..... This is a fight I believe he could very well lose, IMO.
