    Guess Ellerbe missed this article?

Canelo Alvarez: "I'm willing to fight him but I won't walk away from my division, it would have to be at my weight."

During Tuesday's visit to Panama, WBA/WBC junior middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (42-0-1, 30KOs) discussed his upcoming plans. Canelo was in Panama

Do you believe everything Floyd and his team say? They are well proven liars. The 152 catchweight was suggested by Canelo's team about two years ago when Canelo was only 21 and could make a bit lower weight. They started the talks for this fight asking Floyd to fight Canelo for the WBA super champ 154 pound title at the full weight of 154. Floyd Sr. said that Canelo had to make 147 or no fight. After about two months of Schaefer trying to put the fight together the two sides agreed on a catchweight of 152. Canelo had no choice. It was agree to 152 or no Mayweather fight. Canelo's team never asked for or wanted to fight at even one ounce lower than 154 unless you are counting what they said about two years ago. There was no way Floyd was ever going to fight Canelo without a catchweight. My source for this information is Boxing Scene Top Headlines and I have read it daily for the last few years.

Canelo has made a career of fighting smaller guys. He fights Trout in a match that was decided before the opening bell and the open scoring BS was a joke.

GBP has made every effort to eliminate all of the contenders at 154. James Kirkland had brutal fights with Angulo and Molina only to get screwed in the end. Molina got screwed out of his shot in the Kirkland fight. They gave Lara a one sided-rehydration clause in hopes that Angulo could eliminate him and give Canelo an easier opponent. Angulo has been in the ring with Kirkland and Lara. Everybody at 154 has been fighting each other while Canelo took on the likes of Shane Mosley, Josesito Lopez, Kermit Cintron and Matthew Hatton.

So when I see Canelo having to give into a 2 pound catchweight, I feel no sympathy. This opportunity was handed to him on a plate so let's see if he is as good as they think he is.

They tried to step up first with kirkland but he didn't want it, then he supposed to fight paul williams and then that tragic **** happened. Then he was supposed to fight ortiz but he loosed. Alvarez is still a kid and not many tought he could beat trout but he did. Try to rewatch alvarez vs trout and turn of the sound of hbo commentators. You will see the same as austin trout said in his post fight interview: canelo was the faster, stronger better boxer.

And people put everything on floyd just to discredit him. i bashed him for the cw myself but at least floyd is defending his title against saul. how is canelo even the 154 lb champion anyway? every fighter takes advantage of their opponents. canelo coming into fights 20 lbs heavier isnt An advantage? de la goya choosing floyd'$ gloves, weight stipulation, ring size, and other stuff isn't an advantage?

floyd may be a hypocrite but canelo is the one who wants his spot so bad, so he has to bite the bullet like anyone else would in his position. floyd and manny did so with oscar. jmm did so with manny in their 4th fight and they all overcame the disadvantages set against them. true champions fight threw with no excuses. floyd is the true jmw champion anyhow. he is the a side of the fight. every champion does it and has done so in the past.

canelo did anything to make the fight happen, just like floyd did with oscar. his skills are the bottom line in the fight. floyd accepting 152 is a mental advantage for him against canelo. it's a genius move no matter how you spin it which is why he'$ at the top. he outthinks you. floyd will punish saul.

He beat the 154 WBA champ man.....if you make the weight, you make the weight that's how it works. Chavez was around 190 when Martinez fought him weighing 167, he still kicked the schit out of him. As Floyd says, it's not about the weight, skills win fights. Unless, of course, you are fighting for the 154 title at 152.

Exactly, Ellerbe says that Canelo's manager is an idiot, well that idiot just got Canelo his biggest payday....LOL

I think his manager did very well.
