    Canelo's team blew it,,,,

If i was handling canelo, i would say F* off to floyd and the CW...

I had a thread about this last spring before the fight got signed,,,
I said floyd needed canelo more than canelo needs him,,,,
Canelo doesnt have a huge PPV contract to live up to like floyd does,,,
Floyd needs an opponent that will do 1.5+ mil ppv buys, and only canelo can bring that type of numbers,,,
Who else would have fought floyd,,,, Amir, alexander,, danny, lucas,,,, none would bring the numbers like canelo will,,,

Canelo's team totally blew it,,,, They got scared and took the CW,,,, Dumb move because floyd had nowhere else to turn for a big name opponent

Ellerbe's job is to look out for Floyd's interest. When you negotiate, you look to get your fighter every advantage possible (See De La Hoya vs. Mayweather). Ellerbe did his research and used Canelo's manager's own words against him. They weren't smart enough to call BS and realize that Floyd had NO OTHER OPTIONS for a 9/14 fight.

Basically Canelo's team got bullied at the negotiating table because of bad moves.

That's what Ellerbe is saying. It's not about who offered it. Ellerbe is admitting that they brought it to the table by digging up that article. The point he is making is that Canelo's manager is inept and made a ****** move by going to the media to negotiate a fight.

But I mean, if Team Floyd is determined to impose a CW, it's happening regardless of some offer from 2011. Digging that up just seems like desperation to save some rep, and doesn't make it look any better, on the contrary.

Because they signed a contract. Come on man. Enough with these ****** questions.

If the fight is at 152, it's at 152. Not 154, 153 or even 152.5. Get it?

Canelo said he would fight Floyd at 150 in that article. Team Floyd were actually very generous to him. Canelo would weight at least 175 on fight night anyway. He would have 30lb advantage over Floyd. Damn. No excuses.

Well that's worse, he'll already have a hard time making 154, and you wanna make it even harder for him? Like Ellerbe said, even 1lb can be the difference between drained or not.

The moral of the story is do not negotiate in the media. Pac did the same thing stating he will take less to fight Floyd. So long 50/50 Pac and so long 154lbs Canelo. Ellerbe was right. Maybe FMJ's team wanted a catch-weight or some kind of hydration clause. Doesn't matter anymore. Once the article hit the media, you knew they would use that information to their advantage. And they did.

What are you talking about? Nobody is gonna take an article from 2011 seriously except desperate flojobs. Same with Pac, taking less doesn't mean something ridiculous like a flat fee. He probably meant 52-48, to give Floyd the bragging rights
