Promoter Fernando Beltran of Zanfer Promotions told the World Boxing Organization to hold off on giving Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (46-1-1, 32KOs) a high ranking position as a middleweight. Chavez will make his super middleweight debut on September 28th against Brian Vera in Carson, California.
After the fight with Vera, Beltran says Chavez will make a decision on where he plans to fight - at 160 or 168-pounds. The WBO champion at 160 is Peter Quillin and at 168 the ruler is Robert Stieglitz.
