In relation to the OP, Garcia has good timing but not elite.

Bear in mind Khan was throwing constantly during the rounds. And almost always leading with the jab. Most good counter punchers will have success when having so much opportunity.

See, no boxer has a "plan" of getting his ass kicked for several rounds trying to land a counterpunch. THat's what very basic, rudimentary boxers do.
Besides, if Danny was such a fantastic counterpuncher, with great timing like a real KO artist, then he would win most of his fights by KO which like it or not he simply doesnt.
